Soohohoho!
What happens here is that I took several clones (8) from my two ancient Bubba slush and let them take roots.
This was somewhen in october.
I found a big pot in a parc that makes a countainer of 70L more or less and planed to do some permaculture like grow. I tried to add minth and basile but the hps was too hot and the companion plants couldn't catch roots in the top layer of the coco mix.
Once this was all launched I checked that the thrips population that was already rooted in this grow was becoming bigger and bigger... So I bought some nematodes and thrips trap to limite the invasion.
It didn't kill all the thrips but, it kept the population at bay. I then gradually started to put in some living organismes like worms, woodlouse and one ladybird that's in the tent since the end of August!
At the end of novembre, I changed my lights from a 600w HPS to two Mars hydro TSL 2000 (300w each).
I then put the plants in flowering at the 23rd of decembre once I thought that the Thrips infection was more or less under control.
I also bought the Migto UVb lamp that is still on delivery (I planned to use it for the 4 last weeks for a greater thrichome production).
I did one major defoliation on the 7th of January, and was amazed how good the plant respond to this HST.
I am very happy to see how the budsites are developping and I can see some differences between the two phenotypes that are present in this tente (I don't know for sure which one comes from which mother..)
What I did at the beginning of flowering was I gave the plants a 50/50 mix of grow and bloom slow release fertilizer, so the plant can use some extra Nitrogen during the stretching phase of the first few weeks of flowering.
I always check the pH to be in between 6.3-6.8 because i'm trying to get a living soil out of the coco soil mix. I also add a bit of soil frome my garden which included a small colony of red ants (I didn't know those fokes where in there) anyway, for now I tell myself this brings a lil bit f life in my medium which is what i'm looking for.
See ya later!
Peace!
Nothing big has changed, exept that I now add 1ml/L of cal-mag to my watering before adjusting the pH.
I am really impressed by the developpement of the trichome prudoction of that one plant which has developped over the sugar leafs.
I was astonished to see some pistils getting orange already so i checked the plant to lamp distance and make sure its never closer than 45 cm.
The lamps are on full blast so they^re theoretically pulling 600w out of the wall.
I am planning to give those plant a fungal based compost tea, so I now but the mycelium substrate in a dark warm place and ordered all the necessary stuff (kelp meal and molasses) to prepare the tea.
If anyone is interested in this let me know so I can make a little video on this topic.
I am very unpatient to get my UVb light and can't wait for it to arrive!!
Anyway, the grow is coming allong in a good way, I just have some lower leafs that are getting brown and yellow so i guess its a mobile nutrient deficency.
Keep it up!
Peace!
