Apologies for starting this journal in week 3...I can say that germ and first 2 weeks went perfectly normal with no issues. So far things are moving along nicely, it'll be good to mix things up by adding an indica dom strain this time around. Once that next set of leaves pops I'll start some light LST. Looking forward to a successful grow!
1/19 - started LST today. I anchored the base opposite the direction I was stress training and continued with tucking or pinning fan leaves that were pointing up to better expose lower bud sites. Added a few shots of first pistils forming...its nice to confirm that early on!
I started LST on the 19th and she’s responding great! Today I continued to bend and pin any well defined spires to flatten the canopy as much as possible, it’s still early enough that I feel ok pushing this plant a bit. After 2nd LST adjustment I removed a couple fan leaves that were getting in the way of even light dispersion. I feel like this one is growing faster than I recall, this may become a pretty sizable auto (to me anyways)! Plan to continue with LST and I’d say in next week to week and a half this lovely little lass will be well into transition. Thanks for checking out my grow...still learning...comments more than welcome!
I kind of messed up a little this past week. I should have known better but didnt take action when I should have. She’s really stretched out and thin, and it’s because I have her in a shared set up with 3 younger plants in a different grow stage. I should have moved her into my flower tent last week, but I didn’t and now she’s looking a bit twiggy. She’ll be moved to the flower tent for the remainder of this run, I’ll update set up details next week.
Aside from looking anorexic, there are a lot of flower sites starting to become more defined. Hopefully this screw up does not affect her too much, but I’m guessing the end result is already impacted given she’s an auto.
I did a little light LST, and continued with nutes. So far no signs of a deficiency, just has a case of slender man going on.
1/31 - ahhhh, here we go, looking much better already. I moved the CP to my flower set up and she’s already looking much brighter after a couple days. This set up is a 32x32x55 tent with a Viparspectra PAR600.
I propped her up on a bin to get the canopy at the same level as other plants currently finishing off in this set up. I’ll keep her in here for the duration of this run. More to come next week...but man what an improvement already. Fingers crossed this little hiccup doesn’t impact her too much, time will tell.
I think I moved her just in the nick of time, she continues to do well in the flower tent. I’m not going to lament over what could have been had I moved her over sooner, recovery seems to be going well. Lots of bud sites are popping up, she’s still quite lanky, but that just means more room for bud development!
The LST is a bit wonky due to the big stretch she went through, but in order to keep canopy sort of even, the main cola has been put into a bit of an s-curve. The smaller branches are still easy to manipulate, so I’m able to get them out of the way, just a bit of bird nesting going on.
We’re at 6 weeks, so the vertical growth should be slowing down. Here on in those buds should really start to fatten up. Now is not the time to be experimenting, but I may switch up my bloom nutes and transition to koolbloom in lieu of the flora bloom, I’ll do a bit more research and make a decision in next few days.
All in all she’s shaping up to be a decent producer despite the hiccups in veg. Thanks all, good luck with your grows.
She’s doing great, nothing overtly negative to report about. I did up the bloom nutes ever so slightly due to flower to foliage ratio. She’s got a lot of bud sites and not many leaves, light is getting all over this girl so no concern there. BUT, I did lower light an inch or two given lack of foliage. I figure she’s not stressed so I’m ok pushing a little to insure plant has as much light for photosynthesis as possible.
I did decide to stick with floratrio on all existing runs that started with florabloom as bloom component rather than introduce anything different. I don’t think it would pose a problem, just personal choice. Nothing is failing so why introduce a new variable in the mix!
Plan to cease gro nute element and continue to increase bloom nutes. There should be some phenomenal bud development here on in...thanks.
She continues to develop some very nice bud sites. Had a bit of a P-K issue, so I’ll continue with a slightly increased bloom nute schedule and I supplemented some potassium silicate from build a soil. The deficiency does not seem to be progressing so I think the K supplement def helped her out.
She’s just about wrapped up the 4th week of flower and buds should be swelling up by the day! Thanks!
This lady shares a set up with another grow, all are in flower so it works. Recently replaced light to a Mars Hydro TSW 2000. What I really need is a bigger tent...I see a 4x3 or 4x4 in my future for sure!
I have stopped all other nutrients and transitioned over to Ripen for the next week or two. I’ll start to flush with straight water around week 11 or 12, this girl will likely go to 13-14 weeks before she’s done.
Buds have fattened up and the trichs are fairly impressive. We are in the home stretch!
Well...I think this girl isn’t going to make 14 weeks as I thought, probably not even 13 weeks, or just barely.
I started to flush with just plain water, in the past I just pH’d it to keep that muscle memory going, but I decided to just flush without pH’ing. She didn’t have much foliage to begin with so it didn’t take much for her to use up all her reserves...as you can see by the autumn colors she’s chained quite a bit over last several days.
Trichs are cloudy with very few start amber ones. My revised time lime is that this girl will barely make it to mid or end of next week, week 12. If she’s not ready and not many ambers then I’ll let it go, but I think I’ll be doing a choppy-chop action in next 4-5 days.
She turned quick...but that’s all good, will have just enough time flushing, all should be great!
Well...it’s official...this girl was ready. I thought for sure she was going to be a 14 weeker, but she was ready just after 12 weeks. I was keeping a close eye on trichs and once I observed those amber blinkers start to flash I knew it was time.
She went dark for 24 hrs on the 16th prior to the chop and was taken down on the 17th and hung to dry. Now starts the next phase of drying, then the cure...and then it’s my favorite time...time to burn!
I tossed up a few pics of pre and post chop. Next update will be the weigh in.
Thanks for checking things out...cheers!
I am not overwhelmed with the yield. I honestly expected more! The buds were looking so great before the chop, but became so light and airy after drying for 7 days. This is 100% my fault, I should have let this girl go longer. Ended up with 61g of bud and 11g of trim, all is super coated in some nice trichs.
Smells great, tastes great, and gets me to where I want to be...BUT those buds are so larpy all around despite how nice they looked beforehand. Word to the wise to anyone pre-harvest with this strain and breeder.
Plant did great, but this cultivar may have chopped too soon. Feel free to shame me as you see fit :(
I would definitely get this strain again, in part for redemption, but also for great growth, and ease of care.
Looking good. Nice harvest. I grew this late last year and found the flavors great, but the density of the mature buds were somewhat loose. So, I too had a lighter than expected harvest. Still delicious though!
@Growin_it, ah man I was so sad about how light, BUT, taste and smell is on point, kinda weird...just one of the those grows...everyone’s had one I’m sure!
She looks amazing. Good job. I just got done with CPA. Great plant. Mine taste so much like pine, citrus, and flowers.
Beautiful job. I struggled with mine a little, but still turned out fantastic.
@@HobbitGDF, thanks, she went through a stretch early on due to a light mishap, but it worked out. I checked out your critical P and zkittlez, very nice! Best of luck with your grows! I swing by and check out your other grows, always good to check out other auto growers!
Do you think I’m under feeding her? I’ve been hesitant to increase things, that being said I already planned on a trip to hydro store today. I went back and reviewed some Bill Ward vids again and he uses an increased amount of bloom nutes, i.e. frequency and quantity. I think I’ll be adding some things to my veg cycle! I’ll prob let this one ride out, but there’s still hope for my current zkittlez run. Thanks for checking my grows out!
