24 hours in glass of water with a splash of hydrogen peroxide 3%. Then 24 hours in a wet paper towel folded into a plastic bag. Planted about 3/4 of an inch into Mother Earth Coco Plus Perlite Mix 70/30 using Vivosun Seedling Propagation Dome (I'm finding that Vivosun makes sub par products fyi).
I am starting this journal late as I am just starting the second week of seedling.
Do my plants look healthy? If you look at the photos I have added, there is a leaf or two that looks wilted to me. Also, the second plant seems like it is lagging behind the other. Any advice or feedback?
could be just you.. they look fine too me.. Newer and top growth is generally where deficiencies show up.. Excess shows up on lower/older leaves. Ph problems can present in a variety of ways depending on if it's 2 high or 2 low but.. That's not all the time but is generally how I diagnose my own plants.
I am entering late bloom and my girls are experiencing color discoloration. Burn tips = nute burn from last week. Now I'm getting tiny yellow dots on some, half yellow leaves on some and on two or three a rust color spot.
Help! What can I do to fix this?
Too much N buildup. At this point they want very little N and lots of PK (not too much, you don't want lockout). The N in your feed or leftover in your soil is more than she can handle now. Cut out the N and if it keeps getting worse, consider flushing.
Looking great! I am also growing Blue Dream from i49 as my first grow. Mine is just starting flower week 4 and has survived a few of my newbie mistakes. Happy growing ππΏ
Looks great mate, lovely shades of green. I've never grown in coco. If you want some advice on topping, I do it as soon as I can cut it with out catching the 2 shoots either side of what I'm topping. The earlier ya do it the easier it seems to recover IMO. I have a diary on a mephisto grizzly crinkle I topped 7 times, like I say, I just topped each one as it grew out enough.
With defol, unless there's some reason you should be doing it in coco I wouldn't bother, those leaves are bringin in the energy, solar panels if you like. Ppl tend to defol for different reasons but not this early, and generally only if it's necessary.
LST, if you're pulling the top over and hooking it to the pot, then on the opposite side of the pot you need an anchor hooking to the base of the plant if you can imagine. Without one, as it grows the roots may start pulling up. Best thing to do is go on youtube and that'll give you a good visual aid. Hope this has helped some, and again, plants look great
@Wrath55, π No worries, if I can help with something I will and if not I'm always happy to help ppl find an answer. It educates me too. And thanks, harvest day will hopefully be end of feb, mid march latest, can't come quick enough π
@Wrath55, Ok mate, sorry if I made it more confusing. LST is low stress training which is exactly what you were planning on doing, you would be doing a light LST. You basically do as you were going to do and pull and tie branches so they let light in and expose areas, or pull certain branches to where ever you want them.
I put holes in the plastic pot then use pipe cleaners to do my hookin as they're nice and soft so won't cut into the branch. When I LST I do it to get an even canopy (so all the tops of the bud sites are at the same level so they all get the same amount of light, plus I top a lot which produces more tops (bud sights). So I need the plant to grow horizontaly not vertically. So by bending it and hooking it with an anchor like I said previously, that secures it in the ground and let's me bend the plant over at 90 degrees.
You can see from 1st picture on this diary page that I've tied it down and pulled the branches right out to the left and right, it's like it's got a backbone. This isn't my best effort, let it go to tall due to lack of space.
