100% germ rate using tp/pt core method. My first time to try it. 3 beans broke surface in 2 days. Soil used To germ the ladies is a 50/50 mix of Happy frog and roots organic orginal soil. Mixed the Ancient Amber(2ml) and Cal mag(1ml) solution in a full pint of RO water. Then just kept the plugs wet with the solution. About 3-12 mls once or twice aday as needed.
Overall pretty easy week. Filled the 3 gl square pots potts with Roots Organic original. Then, I just buried the tp/pt cores in new pots after I pour some mycko in the core hole. I was nervous about the roots coming out the bottom of the plugs so I decided to plant the plugs in final pots sooner than later. Alternated days of watering with ancient amber calmag ro mix and pure ro at a 1/3rd of a cup each time each plant. Bumped HID up to compensate for pot height. RHumidity kept at constant 55-60%. Winter here so I run a cheap 10$ walmart heater on a timer OUTSIDE the tent facing intake duct . When lights go out it keeps tent temp at 71-73 depending on how cold outside it is
Great, easy week again. Bumped HID watts up twice(250 to 315 , 315-400). Plants handled the increase well. Adjusted light to maintain favorable distance. Mostly watered with ro. Bumped up amount to half cup- two thirds cup. Two plants were thirstier than the others so I watered them a little more. I also mixed up more ancient amber(3ml), rain(.5-1ml), calmag(1.5ml), surge(1ml)Trinity(1ml), Amino Aide from soul line(1ml), budda grow(1ml) in +2 pints phd to 6.2_6.7. Almost forgot, on the days I just gave plain ro water I put 1-2ml of fish shit in.
Forgot to mention the fab pots are on round pladtic risers(couldn't find blow molded square ones)so bottoms can breath. Added a third fan too this week
Easy week again. Only give fish it on water only days. Smell increasing with each passing day. Starting to decrease humidity 3% a week now. PPM on nutes 493. Ladies handled it well. Only one seemed sensitive to nute strength and that was minimal. Will increase to 550ppm next feed. All I've done on these this run is start tucking and exposing developing bud sites. Will install carbon filter end of week 4 for sure. Still running the growers choice 500 watt 4k bulb. Will be switching to 500 watt 3kr when bud sites develope more. Then finish them with the 500 watt 10k for last two weeks. Gotta say I love the 4th gen 500watt cmh/cdm masters pursuit fixture and bulbs. Will be picking up the 630 watt version for next run. I'm sure I probably forgot to include some useful information on my methods but will include in next weeks synopsis. Later, always grow on man!!!!!
Sorry for the crappy pics on 1/25
Anyhow
Another smooth week. I love growing during winter. I kicked up nute levels this week. Skipped calmag and used a pinch of epsom instead in ro water. Didn't really need to as no signs of deficiencies. I doubt I'll go that route next run; however, we'll see what the upcoming passing days reveal. I've Just been tucking leaves under bud sites and spinning pots as far as training goes. Smell is getting stronger fo sure. Sex Pistils showing on a few . Still waiting for bud sites to display activity before switching from 500 watt 4k to 3kr bulb.
1-26: Mixed nutes & ROW today for the ladies feeding tomorrow morning. included are pics of the old juice bucket, air stone, and pump I use to activate all the goodness Aurora innovations has to offer from their Roots Organic line up. Might I say, I'm quite pleased with their line up to date. From the Medium to nutes they have me sold for now. However, instead of using the original soil blend next run I'll use the 707 blend. Only cause I'm a "nute" junky with OCD!!! Robocop??? Anyone,????
1-27:
Checked on the ladies tonight and low and behold all are beginning to flower. I know their age dictates they probably should be by now, yet I can't help but wonder if it also has something to do with the epsom regiment previously administered. Honestly, I was worried I might have over did it a little with the N content in the nutes. Yet, as the day progressed, the tips/new growth/stretch just looked better and better. They're definitely switching into flower mode and stretching their bones. I ponder whether or not they could handle me admistering some good old Kushman Chiropractic moves. My first time with autos, personally I gravitate towards photos. I was also jonesing to top but refrained. Next FREEBIE autos I get, IT'S ON!!!
1-28:
So far so good I suppose. Next round of nutes I'll lower ppms to 500 as I got some white tips. Due ot the amino aide no doubt. SC3 showing signs of slight N toxicity. Need to also adjust quantities of N. and add K & P to their regiment. I feed my ladies a liter every 2 days not every 24 hours. I wish this could be adjusted on the site. Lowering humidity today another 3%. I'll also install the 3kr bulb tonight and have to include a dehumidifier inside the tent at some point I'm sure. I raised the light fixture yesterday and forgot to adjust it's fan so tent temp got unacceptably high, 87. Adjusted the fan this morning so temps should stay in the healthy zone. Going to give RO only next watering with just Rain andincluded fish shit. Probably reduce nitrogen quantities to 1/2 a tsp(2.5ml). Might ommit the budda grow and just use surge and aminoaide with next nute run or just reduce N additives including base to 2.5 mls. I'm still trying to figure out the perfect balance. Seeing how this run is autos I doubt I'll find the sweet spot. Working progress I suppose.
1-29
Watered today with just calmag and rain. I'll do the Same next wetting with fish shit added . Ladies are Starting to pronounce their presence to the whole house, they smell very pleasant IMO. To the wife not so much. Carbon filter goes on tomorrow. Pretty much decided to defoliate in a week or so. 3KR bulb installed today.
1-30
Just coasting along. So far so good. Watered with RO , calmag, & rain, lower dose of fish shit. Plants handled it well. Minor white tips. Nothing too bad. Still haven't installed carbon filter. I really need to as smell is now strong. I picked up a big humidifier off marketplace for a steal. I'm still just tucking leaves and spinning pots. Bumped light to compensate for growth.
All good here. Grow on !!!!!
((Planted seeds on 1-1-21)
:
1-31
Finally, bud growth is increasing and beginning on all plants. Nothing new really. Ladies are just stretching and announcing their presence with that oh so sweet budda smell.
2-1
Still coasting along. Nothing new. Still being lazy about the carbon filter. Ladies smelling extremely loud. Adding blooming nutes to nutrient line up and reducing amount of N content based nutes but still using them. Watered with fish shit, extreme serene, and calmag. Next liquid given will be bloom nute heavy. I'm thinking I'll let the ladies stretch a little more b4 defoliating.
2-2
Ladies were doing great this morning. Loving this winter grow for sure right now!!! Going to start my nute mix tonight so it will have a little time to oxygenate and bring the ph closer to alkaline zone for their morning feeding tomorrow. I'LL Still have to ph mixture though. I hope everyone is doing good with their projects
2-3
(AM vs PM post nute pics added)Ladies handled the bloom heavy brew concoction great. Definitely noticed the stretch in pm after getting off work. Nute mix eneded up being a gallon and a quarter or so. Ppms were to high initially so I added ro to dilute. Worked like a charm, I think. Before ph'ing to proper level it was 515 ppms. So I knew I had to dilute for these auto ladies to take it and run with it from what I read. Possibly could have the onset of aphids. LITTLE BASTARDS!!!!!! I Was administering LST to the ladies and snapped a lower bud branch on SC3. Last grow I lost bud sites I culled the whole run(heat realated, not pest, lost a total of 9 sites or so across 5 plants total(2-3per plant)
. Something about perfection that demands it. I put a splint on the wound and followed up n the morning. She took the repair well, but while inspecting I noticed a little white buggar at the wound site. Looked to b a baby aphid to me. Damnnn!!!! Picked up a solution to rectify that day. Kinda sucks, got to wake up super early or stay up super late to administer foliar application. Guess I'll see what's to b. Dang man!!!! Little bastards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS
SC3 exhibited more stretch than same phenos/genos. Has me questioning the auto finess approach. Vigorous growth exhibited compared to same phenos after injury. Kushman chiropracty attempted on same plant in the am. Coincidence?? Chtacha right bro. Not. Environment is the catalyst possibly, not the stress.
2-4
Picked up a bottle of Lost Coast today in hopes of deassimilating the BORG. Frome what I can tell they seem to be mainly on SC3. Pulled all the plants one by one for treatment, leaving the sicky in the tent to be treated last. I soaked the piss out of em; pots, risers, plants, tent drip pan after cleaning, intake exhaust tubing(both ends), & dryer vent exhaust. Had a fan blowing on them while they were out of the tent to expedite drying. After 90 minutes, and checking to make sure they were dry they were put back inside the tent with lights on. This has to be done the next 3-5 days, then at least once a week. LITTLE BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This probably my own fault since once again I was procrastinating in cleaning the tent drip pan. I skipped on the enviroment hygiene and sanitation and got nailed for it. 😂😭😈
2-5
Mixed up a 1gallon RO batch of calmag (10ml), extreme serene(15 ml), Trinity (10ml), Fish Shit(3ml), & Rain(3ml) and administered this morning. Ladies seemed to handle the Lost Coast treatment well. Buds exhibited minor signs of shock. Nothing to bad so far. Borg level went down considerably but they were still present this morning. Bumped humidity down to 47%.
2-6
Today will be the third treatment of Lost Coast. So far so good I suppose. Rushed the treatment last night.I Didn't let them dry out enough after treatment. Put them back in the tent at hour 10 minutes. Pistil ends on the buds display discoloring at the tips. Burned no doubt by the light. Not good on an auto run. We'll see what the future brings. Treating again tonight, won't be rushed this time. Foliar treatment tonight may just kill two birds with one stone.
PS
Started a batch of bloom tea in the ol' bubbler
Briar Rabbit Black Strap Molasses: 1Tbs
Roots organic -Super Phos Rocks:
1.5 TBS
Roots Organic- Orgenism XL: 2 Tsp
Roots organic- Surge: 1 Tsp
Earthworm castings-Black as you can find(in panty hose section): 1 & 1/4 cup
Going to let brew 24 hours or so. Probably will have to administer a pint of RO to each lady tonight to hold them over
When all else fails, grow on!!!
2-7 (Day 39 from seed)
The ladiemen's r holding their own. Doing my best to keep low temp deficiencies at bay. Certainly a killer at this stage. Still seeing stretch. Damn, I live n a tuna can, not wide or tall. If stretch doesn't stop( I mean, who bitches about stretch, if grown right the bigger the stretch, the bigger the buds) Right? I may have to snap central colas. Makes me think about breaking my own appendages though. Stronger, in the long run, but these gorgeous ladies r on a timeline, like us, once realized, is something that must be adhered to and maximized for the most bang for the buck. More than likely I will implement some sort of super cropping to utilize the 10k spectrum bulb. I feel spectrum based grows r something to be extrapolated on beyond the LED confinement. But hey, I didn't make it all the way through the 3rd grade for nuthin. Tech comes and goes. What matters is how it's implemented and utilized.
2-8:
Didn't do much today. Emptied vicks vaporizer to get rid of mineral burn off. Refilled with a 1/4 tsp of salt and tap(which is why the deposits happen). Borg seem to be hibernating now. Emptied dehumidifier. Kept watch just long enough to look like a freak
2-9
Ladies are coming along good now considering the borg attack. The aphids are now gone. RO Watered with 10ml of cal mag, 4.5 ml fish shit, 3.5ml Rain. Ladies are now thirstier, increasing amount watered to 2 qts+ or so.
2-10
I believe the Lost Coast treatments jacked my root ph levels up. Measured run off and ph was at 8 or so. Adjusting future feedings and watering ph to bring down. Did a minor flush with nutes on most.
2-11
Plants seem to be recovering from root ph zone wack job. Hopefully they keep perking up. Pondering when I should switch to the Growers choice 500 watt 10k bulb. Still a couple weeks out I think. Hopefully the ladies make it in good health.
2-14
Ladies are trucking along. Trying to get root ph back to healthy zone. Hoping they keep stacking and swelling. I Dropped humidity down to 44% now.
2-15
Fed with a lower ph than normal. 6.0 . Ladies are trying to hold their own. Spun pots, tucked & plucked some leaves.
2-16
Sorry no pics. I was a slacker this day. Gentladies just cuising along
2-17
Watered with fish shit and rain. Ladies seem to be pulling their own weight. Starting to pull lower yellowing fan leaves as needed
2-18
Nothing special. Watered RO with fish shit and rain. PH'd to 6.2. About a liter and a half each plant
2-19
Checked on the gentlelas's and they seem to be ok. Started nute brew in bubbler
Budda bloom 10ml
Budda grow 5 ml
HP2 5ml
Surge 5ml
Amino aide 2 ml
Trinity 10 ml
Xtreme serene 10 ml
Cal mag 5 ml
Rain 5 ml
Ancient amber 10 ml
I'll check ppm after bubbling for 12-24 hours. More than likely ph will come in at 3.8-4 b4 correcting. Been thinking about getting another air pump and running my first purchased air stone with 4" stone. We'll see. I was going to add a week to the journal just for the equipment used this run. Any interest in seeing nutes, soil, & hardware in one spot instead spread sporadically through the grow? Let me know. Curious to see the reaction between the amino aide and ancient amber. Time will show and tell. Probably last of N heavy based nutes for most plants. Brew PPM's came in at 800 or so. Added 1/2-3/4 gallon RO to dilute it down to 640 ppm's after Ph'ing to 6.2. Diluted after I ph'd.
2-20
Slacked again on pics. I will say on Tuesday or Wednesday we got to participate in the rolling black outs. Was w/o electricity for 2 hours while it was -9 F outside. Tent got down to 50 or so. Ladies seemed to have handled it like champs. Obviously, I said screw the carbon filter this run as it still isn't installed. Room alternates between cheese, coffee, chocolate, & lemon smells. I'll try to post superb pics on startn of new week to make up for being a slacker today.
Stay tuned and
Grow on Growers!!
2-21 (Day 52 from seed)
Took the ladies out of tent so I could clean and disinfect the drip pan. While the tent was empty and once it had dried I treated the drip pan ,walls, and intake tubing with Lost Coast. The borg have effectively been DEASSIMMULATED. Thank goodness to Jeremy at Guerilla Grow for the recommendation. It's a little pricey but well worth it. After following the directions for aphids be sure to check your soil PH if you soaked the piss out of em like I did with foliar treatments. Primary and secondary leaves are being drained of stored nutrients on 3 of the ladies. Not sure how I'll use the 10k bulb since there are 3 slow pokes and only one tent. Damn slackers.
2-22
Ladies are advancing well for now. SC3 seems to be the closest to finishing up. I really wonder how her top cola would have turned out had I not almost broke a limb completely off. She healed up nicely, but it was stress she didn't have to go through. Sc2 seems to be the next runner up, followed by SC1. Frostiness of the buds on all plants seem to be good. It can always be better. Mixed a batch of lite nutes in 1.5 gallons RO. PH'd to 6.4
HP2- 10ml
Fish shit-5ml
CalMag- 8ml
Rain- 4.5ml
2-23
No pics today. Call me the couch locked slacker. Working two job sites now, sometimes miso tired.
2-24
Well, I should probably start off by saying good morning. It actually was today. Ladies r decently plugging along . Decided to shuffle a couple pots this evening so my tallest ladies are along the perimeter of the tent. Mixed another batch of light nutes. Didn't bubble or ppm. Just PH'd it and utilized it for its purpose.
2-25
Started a batch of nutes in the bubbler this morning at 6am. Absolutely last batch b4 starting flush. I probably shouldn't be making this batch. Pretty much used the whole line up. I've been writing a nute journal to document my nute applications. Honestly, I have to while I'm mixing or I'll forget sometimes. Pot does not effect short term memory😂. This also makes it easier for me to see where and hopefully how things went wrong if they do. It also helps me respond better to my plants needs. Two pages of the nute journal from this run are included in the pics.
2-26
Nute brew came out a little stout(900ppm)for these autos, so I had to dilute down to 690ppm with an additional gallon or so of RO. Watered and wound up with half gallon leftover that I'll use tonight. I'll try to take some pm pics.
Added some PM pics
2-27
10k bulb installed. Shuffled plants. Definitely more blue purple violet colors seemingly. Smell changed to more skunky tones n the evening. Why not buy multiple bulbs to reduce the burden of life's perfection on one spectrum. I think I'm digging this. Why invest a grand into led diodes u can't readily change out after par deficiencies show.
I never matched nutes and medium b4. So far I'm a fan; I'll update on flavor once available.
Dropped humidity a couple more points tonight.
2-28
All plants seem to like the 500 watt 10k finishing bulb. I decided to start making two batches of RO. One batch for more mature and one for the slackers. More Mature plants started getting there flush mixture. The two slackers recieved normal NPK ratios. Might have to back wattage off to 315 or 400. Maybe foxtails forming?
3-1
Should possibly decrease wattage when running 10k bulb in a small space with vertical limits. Slight foxtailing on SC3. Took ladies out of tent and defoliated yellow leaves.
3-2
Continuing to flush with trinity &Fish shit on SC plants. Noticed Trich reduction on SC 3 which is directly under the light. Next run will run finishing bulb at 315 watts if space is still an issue. Plant should've been chopped by now I guess. I will say plants handled 3kr & 4k bulbs with no problem. Now some of the tops are within 1 foot or so of the bulb. I'm really digging this Growers Choice rig. Nothing else.
3-3
Definitely some foxies going on with SC3 directly under the light. 3x3x6 tent. Honestly, the ladies handled it better than I thought. Anyhow, flush abounds for most
3-4
Ladies still trucking along
3-5 thru 3-6
Not much happening here. Ladies just doing their thing. Started flushing some of the ladies on the 1 st
3-8
Not much happening. Still flushing.
3-9
Keeping on keeping on.
3-10
Harvested SC1 today. I have to think about the best way 2 upload and sort pics since I'll harvest the three plants at different times. All and all I would grow this strain again.
3-11
Strain grew strong and good. Leaves started purping out the closer to harvest they got. I'd say out of the three, I got two different phenos. Two the same and one that stacked fat buds almost like a photo IMO. If I run autos again I'd definitely have this in the lineup
Okay, overall was an easy grow. Lost Coast kicked the shit out of the borg but blasted my soil ph after the 4th treatment. Over all a good strain to grow. I probably won't due the auto thing again for awhile due to larfy bud characteristic of the ruderalis( after sampling and curing SC3 I have to question this statement)Cause DAMN can't touch a bud and not wreak of it later. Kinda like one of those farts that keep on giving like,Dad gave ya as a kid . For me they just don't compare to photo flowers. Pulled 1 to 3 ounces per plant. But I want to be clear I couldn't have been happier with the Strawberry Cheesecake auto from Seedsman. Scissor hash was killer!!!! That's an understatement to say the least. Juice numbed my mouth while sampling during trimming. Thank you Seedsman for fresh strong genetics. Definitely would purchase for concentrate run. Thank you Sirius Foursome and Nebula Haze, & thanks a million Mr. CANUCKS! Got to give a shout out to ICMAG too!
