Beginning of week..
Wow she is doing wome amazing things! Such fat, dense colas... Not very long but damn this girl is thick in all the right places π.. The calyxes that first formed are pretty fat too. This is some weird bud structure.. I'm pretty sure she is making more calyxes on top of the old calyxes.. Like foxtailing.. But not foxtailing.. Well, I wouldn't think so, at least.. The temps have never even hit 85F. My last grow did the same and temps were perfect. So I'm thinking it is just genetics.. Pretty tho.. And very frosty!.. This is a very interesting grow.. And love this strain so far. Very fruity, sweet scent. So early into flower and amazing things are already happening!
Almost mid week..
I never knew a leaf could grow out of a calyx.. Fuckin weird.. I'll try to update tomorrow (mid week) with a pic of it. The trichomes on this girl are gorgeous and everywhere.. I can't wait to give her a taste!
Mid week..
So lately the runoff has been coming out at 6.5+ pH.. I've been mixing up my nutes/water at 6.0 - 6.1 pH to bring it down.. So far, no luck.. Guess I'll try to bring it down to 5.8 pH till the runoff goes back to where I need it at. No issues as far as I can tell. Some fat colas.. Not sure if she's foxtailing from heat or genetics.. I'm wondering if I should raise the light up a bit.. The LUX meter says I'm getting 28000 LUX at the center or the plant and about 26000 LUX around the outside colas.. I do see some yellowing but its only on the newest growth.. Like the leaves that are coming out of the calyxes.. Which I would guess is just from the lack of Nitrogen while she grew those?? I have no idea.. But the leaves that are highest on tge plant.. And in the center of the footprint of the light, getting the maximum light, no burns or any other issues on the leaves.. Besides the heat stress.. The serrated parts are kinda pointing upward.. I'm sure you can see it in the pics... Damn heat. But she is still looking amazing.. Still smelling amazing.. I couldn't be happier.. ILGM definitely stepped up their game from the White Widow Autoflower to this Zkittlez Autoflower.. Abkut halfway through flower with this one and I can already tell she is gonna produce probably about twice as much as the White Widow auto which was grown in a gallon pot.. Coco.. Gen Hydro.. Same shit.. But this one just.. Wow.. And I'll say it once more.. Not bad at all.. Lol
End of week.. Forgot to update yesterday.. But things are still movin along.... The fan leaves are getting crispy and some tips are breaking off.. Not sure if I'm burning my plants or not. This happens every grow. Doesn't seem like the nitrogen toxicity has been getting any worse. Leaves are still dark green but the clawing hasn't gotten worse either like my past grow. 2 grows in a row were very nitrogen sensitive. Hmm.. Heat is definitely causing stress.. Now the curling upward has gone from just the serrated part of the leaves to the entire leaf.. Also some serious foxtailing.. I hate foxtails. Makes my girly look so weird.. She is still gorgeous.. But yeah.. That is this weeks update.. On to the next!...
I have this autoflower that is growing really slow. Everything seems perfect as far as health, lighting, temps, humidity, pH (including runoff), PPM (including runoff).. She has been growing slow since day 1... Why??? Pic is 8th week from seed.
Looking @ your weeks she has been looking fine. There has been lots of growth. You have done lots of training to her. That helps to keep her short and aids in new growth from below. You wanted to keep her short and you have done a good job @ that. Gl the rest of the way.
@homerjgangia,
Thank you, Mr. Simpson! I just did a defoliation.. That probably could have waited till next week... DOH! Lol thanks for the comment, growmie!
@TheThiccBud,
Problem: Dark green leaves, shiny leaves, clawing, weak stems, and overall slow growth. Marijuana leaves that are nitrogen toxic often get βThe Clawβ or talon-like leaves that are bent at the ends. They also do an odd curving (or cupping) that is often mistaken for overwatering, but is unique to nitrogen toxicity. You can see a βclawingβ leaf in the pictures below (click each picture for a close-up).
Leaves that turn into claws often start turning yellow and dying if the nitrogen toxicity is not treated, much like a nitrogen deficiency, only the leaves will continue to get more and more clawed. Leaves eventually turn yellow or brown and fall off. You can tell if yellowing is caused by too much nitrogen because the rest of the plant will be dark green, and the yellowing leaves will turn into claws first.
That is from growweedeasy dot com
@TheThiccBud,
I thought that is from too much Nitrogen.. I could be wrong.. Maybe I'll give it a try.. Water every other day or something.. I just like to make sure I have plenty of runoff.. Salt build ups suck. Thanks growmie.. This girl is a couple days from harvest. Cant wait!
@Professor_Chaos, I think the leaves are far too dark green and through my own experience it looks like they would get to much water. you know? π this leaves are small has Darkgreen color and grow weird π΅ but your flower looks amazing ππ
@Terpturtle,
Lol these have got to be the biggest colas I've ever grown.. But the damn foxtails.. But still very happy with what she is doing.. Impressive asf.. Even with all the heat stress, light burn and pH at the rootzone issues.. But she is still not giving up on those flowers.. Good girl lol. Thanks growmie
@Lady_NugWitch,
Haha! Thank you! Much needed! She had a slow start.. Not sure why.. Still kinda slow at this point too.. But she is growing, that's for sure.. Thanks again!
Just for future referance, as it may help out alot in your future grows to look at the seed to harvest time for the strain you are growing. I am growing the same thing (ILGM Zkittlez auto) and I am going into week 11 ready to harvest. The Zkittlez auto takes about 8-11 weeks from seed to harvest on average, and rarely will ever go almost 16 weeks. The reason why you had nanners could of definately been from the stress of heat and everything, but they were also likely due to the plant being over its harvest period and it was going into survival mode and trying to reproduce itself to make seeds for next year to keep her genetics going. Thats what they do when they go longer than they are supposed too.
thanks man...I'll definately make sure to follow yours. I'll be updating tonight at some point with new pictures. The colors on this girls sugar and fan leaves are incredible. So much damn purple. I left alot of leaves too. The main cola's bottom is completely blocked out its so thick with bud and sugar and fan leaves. They are rock hard. I'm very excited. The smell is unbelievable. @Professor_Chaos,
@TJshortstop24,
Oh yeah thats right! Well I'm gonna follow along! Yeah mine was stacking like a sativa so I let her keep going.. But yeah I left alot of leaves so it was difficult to check the bottom nugs.. I wish I would have now.. But I wont make that mistake again. Halfway thru the flush on my 2 ethos stains. They are both perfectly right on track but I feel I should leave them just 1 extra week. My last ethos strain I harvested right when they said.. Alot of cloudy but not enough amber.. It was an ok high.. Very paranoid tho π³π³π³ hoping to avoid that with these girls.. But yeah bro Im gonna follow along on your harvest!
Its actually CBN that it converts to when over ripe. THC will convert to CBN which gives you that very sedative sleepy headache weed exactly like you said. I have been checking the bottoms of the buds and they are right at the harvest point. The tops of the buds are still growing really nice. I wouldn't say the new bud growth is exactly foxtails, as it forming nicely into the buds already fully developed. If I was going by the trichomes on the tops of the buds then I could see where you let them go way too long, because the trichomes on the very top are still clear with only a few cloudy here and there. As you harvest though they will actually fill up with thc and get a little bit cloudy. You will allways still have some clear trichomes in the buds at certain locations but as long as the majority of the lower and middle buds are cloudy with some amber, then you are good to harvest. I will be putting my Zkittlez auto in dark for 48-72 hours, depending on how my weekend schedule is. Then I will be cutting down in the early morning of the end of dark period, with no light at all after the extended dark period. Then I am shooting for atleast a 7 day dry. I would be happy with a 7 to 14 day dry. @Professor_Chaos,
@Rock_n_Roll_Randy,
HydroFarm came out with a new one.. A little cheaper than their last one.. About $140.. Some bad reviews.. But it seems about right to me.. 12 inches from my lights I'm seeing 1000+ PPFD so I seem to have gotten a good one! Thanks again growmie!
@Rock_n_Roll_Randy,
Thanks growmie.. She actually isnt all that great.. I may have pushed her for too long.. I now see all the amber trichomes and nanners were everywhere.. Smh.. But she still tastes ok and does the job.. Just have to smoke a little more.. Ready for my next run in my 2x4 with the OPTIC SLIM 320H.. Beast of a light and I just got a PAR meter too.. No more guessing with the lights! I love it! Thanka again growmie!
@DoDrugs420,
Thanks growmie! I fucked her up pretty bad tho. Burnt off the terps mostly.. And I JUST read that apparently the DLI is already good enough when you keep the PPFD in a veg range.. Between 300 - 600 ΞΌmols... Since the plant is getting 18 hours of light, the DLI is right where it needs to be until harvest.. Plus my environment is pretty warm and humid.. And I think I pushed her for too many weeks.. Nanners everywhere.. No mature seeds.. But seeds were starting.. Foxtails.. Oh it was a horrible run lol.. She did grow ok tho.. I wish I had known that I should have left my light further.. This plant smelled amazing when she was growing.. But now that I know how delicate trichomes are.. Not gonna make that mistake again.. She made some fat colas.. And like I said, smelled great while she was growing.. So disappointed in myself lolol
That is some weird bud structure though. I have found there Zkittlez auto to be all over the place. The ones that hermed were all completely different. I had one runt that was about half the size of the other 3 that hermed first. And then I had two monsters that were growing amazing. I thought I was going to end up with over 200 grams just with those two the way they were going, but sure enough out came the balls. Thank God I destroyed them and ended up with one successful Zkittlez plant.
ILGM was very good about it and actually gave me a 99 dollar gift code to use to buy another 5 pack with no questions asked. Thats how I ended up with the Bruce Banner. I planted one of every strain I have and save all the rest of the beans for after this grow where I can get a general feel on how each strain likes to grow and there tendencies and everything. Then next grow I will plant all of them for a huge run.
The buds on my zkittlez auto aren't then biggest buds in the world, but they are pretty damn fat and juicy but they good thing is they are as hard as a friggin rock. And the frost has been pretty damn good too. The colors it is turning right now are absolutely gorgeous. The buds and all the calyxes are more purple than barney and the fan leaves are turning a sick ass yellowish green with purple tint all throughout the leaves. This fade it is doing is pretty awesome. I nailed the timing of my last top dress perfect to get it to fade these amazing colors
