Seeds were planted in soil Thursday night and have been at about 50-60% humidity and between 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit.
They are in a custom bureau gutted by myself and the actual grow area possible from the top of the pots to the top of the bureau is 2x2x3. I have this full wrapped with aluminum foil tape and have covered an holes. Also have a 4” desk fan with another on the water vented with a fiberglass air filter that will serve as my intake and I have a 4” inducter with 80CFM that I’ve been using as my intake.
In the pots themselves are 100% Vermont grown organic compost soil. Bought at my local gardening shop.
I have been lowering PH from about 7.5 down to 6.5 with just Tap water and will switch over to distilled once the plant can take nutrients.
No sprouts yet, not sure how long this process normally takes as I planted the seeds directly in the medium?
I have done the paper towel method before and that has taken 2-3 days for them to germinate.
I also currently just have a cheapo 19W Feit light bar hanging about a foot above the soil.
Doesn’t seem to be getting too warm underneath it and I’m using a meter to check light at the soil and it reads right in the middle.
This is my first grow so any tips are greatly appreciated as I’m doing a micro grow with autos and am looking to increase my yields as much as possible.
Thanks!!!
So the first full week since germinated and putting into final pots has gone by.
The stems are looking very weak and thin and one plant actually toppled over.
I ended up adding more soil around it to support it better. Not sure what this is due to? I have only been giving plants tap water around 6.8 PH and only when dry up to first knuckle.. which I check normally once in morning and at night. Light schedule is 19/5. Will be changing to 18/6 once my new lights come in. Been running a 19W led strip about 10-12” away from pots.
Good airflow to help strengthen stems and not sure what is going on with the leaves discoloring and whatnot.
Any tips or advice as to what’s going on??
Honestly, the difference from the end of week one to now being in the middle of week two is actually insane. I wasn’t even sure if this plant was going to make it or not because my other one did not.
The 🌱 has definitely blown up and is responding well to basically everything. I did have one issue with watering her and leaving the lights on.. DUH 🙄
Otherwise she’s looking healthy at least to me. Correct me if I’m wrong. Haha. Big learning experience for me!
I am very happy with my results so far with this being my first grow.
I did top her a little too close to the stem but she’s recovering great.
Has entered flowering now as I’m a few days into the 4th week.
Haven’t had any big issues other than just perfecting my setup.
Update on week 4! We’re fully update as I’m on week 5 as of 2/28/21.
Progress has been amazing! LST has definitely paid off and the two new sprouts from topping are coming in too slowly.
I see a bunch of new bud sites and did a bunch of lollipopping today on lower sites that are gonna produce crap buds.
No major issues as far as plant health. Cross my fingers and knock on wood!
