The seedlings are strong and healthy. Time to put them into their pots. Focus now is root growth.
For DWC this is a critical period. You need to be sure to set the water level the correct distance from the bottom of the pots. I usually give about an 8-10” gap. I use this same gap throughout the entire grow.
Interesting week of explosive vegetative growth! This week will end with me topping these two. I’ve never topped plants after only two weeks of vegetative growth!!
In terms of the hydroponic system, nothing fancy this week, everything is set on autopilot.
This does mark my first grow using the Spiderlight SF4000. I’ve learned that it does put out a fair amount of heart. The light has been heating my 4x4 tent to 76•F during the coldest days. Any advice on light distance and dim levels using the SF4000 during this grow would be useful. Appreciate you checking out my dairy!
The plants have already been topped twice. Both are showing incredible resistance to environmental changes. Plant 1 is looking droopy, like its retaining too much water. This is my first grow using Advanced Nutrients B52. I read the instructions incorrectly and put too much into the reservoirs. A quick nutrient change should solve that problem.
Does anyone else use Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect?
Ok, Week 4 has come and gone. The plants lost nearly a week recovering from root rot.
I’ve had to keep the room temperature on the low side, (around 62*F during day periods) to combat the spread of the root rot.
I have been treating the buckets with 3% hydrogen peroxide until the bottle of Hydro Guard arrives.
This next week I will put the SCROG net down and begin training the branches.
As always, thank for keeping up with me.
The root rot problem from the previous weeks seems to be resolved. I finally received the bottle of Root Guard. I am thoroughly impressed with this product. The Root Guard has put my plants back into a vigorous grow cycle within a couple of days of introducing it to my grow. Week 5 ends on a great note and high hopes!
The next coming week will be the introduction of the SCROG net into the tent, in preparation for the flowering cycle.
Week 6 has come and gone. The vegetation on these plants have literally exploded.
The SCROG net has been put down to spread the branches out. I’m still trying to get this new SpiderLight 4000 adjusted at the proper height. It’s definitely going to take a couple of grow cycles to dial it in.
The plants are still not yet showing pistols, so I’m keeping them on the veg formula for now.
Thanks for stopping by and checking them out.
This was a terrible week for my grow. With the unusual weather that we’ve had, my plants have gotten burned. Super cold weather and power outages has really hurt this crop.
Normally I would chop these down and delete this diary. I’m going to do the best with what I’ve got...fingers crossed.
What a difference a week can make. The plants are coming back strong. One more than the other.
I’m not expecting a banner harvest, but I can still make some pretty buds.
