Lovely ladies. Both growing well. Not much to say for now. Soil temp is a big thing for me this grow with more effort going to support a happy medium rather then trying to control the entire grow space environment. The odd looking stand shes on is a home made experiment to try and regulate substrate temps using less power and direct heat then a heating mat. Also mats i think are only good for seeds, they are too hot and will burn the roots of a young/established plant. The idea behind my system is i use a 60w radiating heat tube attached to the aluminium strips the plant sits on. The bars do not get hot but they do radiate a constant temp that is above that of the room ambiant temp. The result is i now keep everything that needs to be warm i.e the substrate and roozone, at a constant 19-22c. From the research i have done as long as the rootzone is above 15c and below 23c then the magic will happen and nutrient uptake is at its optimum. The room itself is very high at 2.4M. To heat the space before i was using 220W of heater. Now i am on 60w a tube and all seems well. The other advantage is i can get a nice big drip tray under the rack to collect run off and i installed a small aquarium pump to pump out the run off so no more spills in the grow space.. Thanks for looking. Stay safe😷 Grow well.🌱😃🌱

Bit gutted about the Chibans. They really really do not like or tolerate temps lower then 14c. I had no idea the temperature would drop like it did last week and so my ladies were subject that a very cold night that my home made heating system just could not cope with. I can handle temperature down to around 0c with my setup but when it hits neg 9 well nature won that battle. The result is of the 6 ladies in the room all were fine except the Chibans. Stopped growth and likes very poorly. I think I've got things in order now and they are looking much better. (Hard to believe looking at the pics). I hope that the weather warms a bit and they continue to recoup. Cheers. Stay safe😷 Grow well.🌿🌱

The Chibans are fighting back. Number 1 seems to be back to full swing and is pushing her 5th node but is quite stubby. She should be a bit taller I think. Her sister I thought had given up. She is almost 9 days behind now compared to the other girls...but she does seem to be pulling through now. The cold weather just battered these girls. Do not sow these beans unless you are sure you can stay above 18c at night. Not because the beans are bad, in fact they are amazing😍 if given the right conditions... They are getting just water at 6.2 and the SP 3000 is @40% and 70ish CMs. Thanks for looking Stay safe😷😷😷 Happy growing🌿🌱🌿

Chibans are back on track. Number 1 is a healthy example of the strain and has pulled through the early problems with no worry. #2 has suffered at week 1 from the cold and she never really recovered. The node spacing tiny and all nodes are showing tiny growth even though her fan leaves have pushed out. My fear is that the stress has been too much and she will do some odd shit later like grow a penis!! (The spacing is similar to how my Somango was before she/he turned hermie.). As a precaution i took 2 clones from plant #1 and if they take then i shall take the best of those (maybe both 😅) and bin #2. I may top off #2 and clear all nodes from 3 and see if the energy redistribution helps. #1 will be going to her final pot this week i had hoped to move both but #2 is just too small😕 so i shall keep #1 as the quuen she is and keep working on #2....Never give up, never surrender!✊💪 Still on water @6.2 they had their first full water to run off 4 days ago and took just under a litre each as soon as they have dried they will get some fish mix as they are starting to look like they want tsome N. RH is coming down from 75% during the nursing week to a more easy 65%. Day temps are around 19c in the room so i have supplemented with a 60w bar heater set to keep the room at a min of 22c max of 25c. SP3000 is running at 50% and 75cm no major sign of bugs which was a worry running such high temps and RH last week. But the chibans needed it and they are thanking me now. ( well #1 is) Little update. I decided to top #2 glad I did as I think she will be okay now . 3/3. Topped 2 is coming back I think. Topping her allowed energy redistribution and I think she's gonna be okay🤞👍🌱 Thanks for looking. Stay safe 😷😷and Grow well.🌱🌿🌱

Chiba 1 is huge. She's gonna be massive I think she was topped and just keeps pushing growth. Drinking 1l a day and very happy. Repotted into final 12l fabric pot and showing some nice roots.. Number 2 not sure if I should just cut my losses. She is short and stubby and not really pushing. Feeding grow now at an EC of 1.2 pH 6.2.

What can I say. This girl is huge she has 11 and 12 finger fan leaves the size of my face. She was super cropped and bounced back within 50minutes. I could not believe it she went back 100 degrees on her self and was standing round again an hour later! Room is being flipped to 12/12 tonight so let's see some flowers. Feeding is a low feed of grow mixed to an EC of 1,2 and then just water. This strain is amazing with some really great structure. The branches have done a good job of growing out to get free from all those big fan leaves which is what I wanted. Now I have cut all the big leaf off the branches have so much room and light I think they will enjoy this week. Going to start adding some K when flowering show there is some in the soil still so I am not too worried. Thanks for looking. Happy grows stay safe.

Another easy week for the chibans. I feel bad i did not include little chiban 2 in the diary. She was topped a while back and is much much smaller then her sister but her structure and growth i am pleased with. Glad i kept her now.. Number 1 is just a monster!! i cut her i have snapped and bent her but each time i come out the next day and she has just repaired whatever i have done and im sure if she could she would be holding her middle finger up at me as i walked in!! She is huge (relative to the space i have) I have never spent so much effort on past grows maintaing the perfect enviroment as i have on this grow and what it has shown me is huge.. Get this right and it seems they just do their thing.. Now she is flipped and in pre flower i am a little scared of what she will become.. Good job my tiny grow space is over 2M tall. Feeding is strange as they dont want too much. At the start of potting i mixed in ecothrive charge into the substrate and i have to say this stuff is amazing. I gave the first feed of nutes to these i think a week ago and it was a weak mix of grow and it gave them talons on the leaf tips which i took as a sign of N toxicity. So i think i could have stretched another week out of just water and beneficials. I will remember for next run. thats it really, i will be keeping an eye this week on the enviroment again as previous weeks and watching for any changes in requirements. Thanks for stopping by Happy grows Smoke one for me.. Stay safe..

A bit of a boring update. Which is great as it means nothing bad has happened. Just keep growing. Flowers are out now and I am very happy with them both. Number 2 which I nearly binned early on is a little monster. Short and stocky she has been topped and trained for 2 colas but I think she will give a good return to effort put in. Number 1 is just my queen she Is huge and graceful. Structure is on point and apart from a light defoliation she just has water and environmental happines. Space is an issue as I did not want her to be as wide as she has become but first world troubles really. I don't expect sympathy for my plant being too big..😂 Thanks for stopping by Happy growing Stay safe😷 Sorry for the colour accuracy in the pictures. I am using my phone and its sensor is a few CM from my SP3000.Even at 20% it makes the phone do some funky compensation😆

Bit late updating this week, we are actually 9 weeks plus 3 days. Been an annoying week for the chibans, i have been so busy in the garden trying to get things done in between the snow showers that i was not watching and it looks like i have been underfeeding #1 and some friends suggest i had some P missing. She was still full and praying but the leaf colour was going vey yellow. Amended a few days ago and already looking better, i will stay on top of it this week. #2 is great, short and stocky. showing good flowers and really quite nice. Thats it really thanks for looking happy growing, stay safe..

Not much to say this week. Back on trak with feeding, colour is coming back and flowers are filling up. Chiba 1 flowers are huge domes, really round and fat. I hope they just grow up and out some more. Number 2 is also pushing some great flower with 2 main colas and loads of little node growth underneath, also 2 clones are well into flower and are doing great, Love this plant. Feeding is up to 1.7 every other feed is nutes and water inbetween. Thanks for looking. Stay safe and happy growing.

Chibans are pollinated as everything in the room was. I will still finish them off and hope for some passable bud. I may even end up with some Sherbert banana beans...🤞🤘

I am not sure what the deal is with the Chibans. They look mutant to me maybe due to pollination. There is so much crystal forming up on them and they still look beautiful. Plant 1 is huge with big colas that are fragrant and very very sticky to the touch. Plant 2 looks the most normal as far as bud structure to me. She has not got the same flattened of tops but instead are more cone like . Also very very crystal heavy Clones 1 and 2 look like monsters to me. Their buds are bulbous and fat with a very flat round top and quite a bit larger then golf balls! I have never seen bud look like this but then I have never had pollination issues and watched the plants quite as much as I am at the moment. We will keep going with them and see what we get. I hope for some smokable bud and also some Sherbert banana seeds maybe🤪👍👍. Thanks for looking. Stay safe. Grow well.🌱🌱

Last 14 days for the ladyboy Chibans. It is such a shame they were pollinated because the buds are soooo huge and packed with crystal this plant would be a beast giving a really good yeild. The smells are a mix of fruity and sweet skunk. Beautiful. Plant 1 is the big girl and is doing fine. Plant 2 looks like it got off light on the pollination and may have some smokable bud. Both clones are seed factories and are Lao huge. Such a shame.. Just water for last 2 weeks. Thanks for looking. Stay safe and grow well.😷🌱🌿🌱

I am very happy with the Chiquita Bananas in the end. Clones were total seed factories but I think we may have a go at making some hash with those as the foot long buggers are caked in crystal.. 62g and 63g . Plant 1 is just a monster for me 365g wet. Long dense buds thick dank smell of tropical sweets. Not as much seed as I thought there would be so glad I was convinced to push her a bit more. Plant 2 is smaller but has taken a pure turn in the last week.i don't think she was stressed at Al. I did switch to just water for last 10 days but apart from that I dunno. I don't think she has any thing with pure in her genetics but either way she looks beautiful. 169g wet from her. Everything is drying for the next 10 days when I shall report back. Happy grows.🌿🌱👊 Stay safe.😷
