First project of 2021! I’ve decided to go Strawberry Pie Auto from @Fastbuds - I’m sold on their claims of it being their frostiest strain.
Soaked seeds in water for about 10 hours, then moved to wet paper towel for 24 hours. Once the tap roots were all showing I moved into soil with a plastic container over them for extra humidity.
So far so good. Think I could be keeping rh a bit higher as it drops below 60 during peaks of the day - nevertheless they seem happy. Excited to see what the next few weeks hold they seems to be strong little plants.
DAY 11: Everyone is doing great, seems to be the fastest growth I’ve had at this stage. Their stems are a little on the flimsy side so I’ve lowered my oscillation fans to make them dance around more. They also look like they’re really enjoying their feeds.
DAY 13: I have all 3 lights now activated. Can definitely see how the new additions have had a positive effect on their rate of growth. My soil is also starting to dry up quicker which tells me their root systems are developing nicely.
Flying! Had their first full feed yesterday seem to really be loving it. Should start seeing some preflowering starting this week. So far this has deff been my best project. The new additions seem to be having a great effect. Also added my training clips to start opening the plants up more. They’ve adapted nice and quickly. So far so good!
DAY 24: Preflowering in action!
Just got back from a holiday and all seems to be okay! Was abit dry and had to remove a lot of yellow leaves off the bottom but otherwise all seems to be okay! Had their feed late but they’ve made a quick recovery.
Took a holiday and they took a bit of strain during my time away but seemed to have recovered well. Waiting for some fattening up on the buds - hope she’s got some surprises in store for me.
Decided to throw in an extra 50watt supplement light for extra reds and an extra oscillating fan. Hopefully makes a small difference in these last few weeks.
Added in a final oscillating fan to increase the air movement for these last 2-3 weeks. This strain has surpassed my expectations and one of the frostiest I’ve ever grown. There are also 3 different phenotypes showing one tall with pink, one short and stubby half the size with green/orange, and the last medium height with the leaves and bud going purple.
Also decided I’m going to flush this run - I didn’t do it last time based on reading I had done but wasn’t 100% convinced after my last harvest wasn’t as smooth as usual in my opinion..
Had their flush yesterday now just waiting for the soil to dry up alittle before I start the 48 hour dark period before cut - they’ve also started getting very heavy on the tops with the plants leaning over. Hoping it’s dried up by tomorrow evening, this has definitely been my best run the frost on the buds is really amazing. @fastbuds__genetics description of Strawberry Pie is 100% accurate.
Time to finally finish off this journey! Cured 2+ months and final weight is 150g combined. Was overall impressed with the strain - I got 3 different phenos all of which were cool in their own way. They also managed to hold strong while I was away on holiday.
The smells were as described - strawberry candy and I got some of the biggest and densest buds I’ve ever had, during the grow the plants were all extremely frosty I just didn’t manage to retain a lot of it (used grove bags for the cure for the first time donno if it was that maybe). I remember in the beginning their growth rate was also very impressive. Although I can’t take anything away from them I don’t know if I would do this one again think it can get a bit more exciting - I also realize I enjoy my greener strains rather than the darker ones like Strawberry Pie.
