First time grower, have been reading and studying for the past 3 months, watching way to many youtube videos and reading the various forms, I decided to take the plunge. Picked up a Mars Hydro 2.3'x2.3'x5.2' grow tent kit with the TS 1000 LED Grow Light. And from HomeGrown Cannabis two different seeds the Krush XL and Gelato Feminized autoflower. For my first attempt I am planting one seed each in a 3 gal fiber pot with Fox Farm 50/50 mix of Happy Frog and Ocean Forest. The seeds have been germinated in a peat pod and after 4 days in a dark tent and heating pad the seeds of sprouted (see photo's).
It seems I have one short and one long lanky girl, the Gelato Feminized shot up 2 inches in the first day of germination which in turned required me to add the support to hold up her skinny stem. On day 4 I transplanted them to their final home a 3 gal fiber pot. I am using a mix of Fox Farm Happy Frog and Ocean Forest (20% perlite, 40% Happy Frog and 40% Ocean Frost) Since this is my first grow in a tent and with autoflowers I am very cautious with the water and feeding schedule. On day 6 watered 2 liters but not enough for achieve a run off. The next watering will be plan water (PH 6-6.4) but a complete soaking.
Day14
The girls have not grown much in height but they are filling out both are on their 3rd set of leaf's. I raised the TS 1000 to 18 inches and increased the light power to 45%. Both plants have been watered to run off, PH of run off is 5.2. The XL is drinking more water it dried out in 3 days, the Gelato went 4 days before the 3 gal pot was dry.
I have some discolored leaf's on the XL not sure if it is a genetic trait or a nutrient deficiency, will be watching her closely going forward.
Day 22 I topped and trimmed the lower and started LST. Not sure if this was a good idea but I have a small grow space 2.3 x 2.3 X 5.2 only time will tell. I have see some nut burn so the last watering I stop feeding the nots and gave 2ml per liter Cal Mag the Kush was not looking great and the Kush leaf color started looking better.
