GSC has started flowering, I'm assuming the SDH is still about a week or so behind.

I know autos aren't supposed to be re-potted, but the Haze Express left me hesitant to go the direct-in-final-container route again ... and really, if I don't disturb the root ball / pot content at all, how much stress can that create? Will the beasties even notice?

Hi bro! You won't create any stress if you do it properly : the idea when repotting an auto, is to avoid touching any roots, and instead take the hole thing into its new container. I do it systematically with my autos : they're born in a 0.5L airpot, then once the roots are showing by the bottom of the container, I transfer them into 11L airpot. These airpots make it easy to 're-pot' because you can remove the container without touching roots. I won't try such an operation with a regular container unless you can "cut" the pot and proceed to gentle manipulations... I'll be around, good luck with these babies!

Thanks to @Sweet_Seeds I noticed that my new, supposedly stronger nursery lights were actually weaker than the old ones. That's the old ones back in the fixtures, hopefully the next few internodes won't be quite as stretched out.

That's the GSC in her 3-gallon pot now, about to move into the auto cabinet to the flowering Northern Lights and the Critical Kush. 😄

“They” say a lot of things about autos... I think you’ll be fine if you do it carefully and before she gets too big for the starter pot. Good luck! 👍

@DudeGrowsWeed, Cheers! I think I'm just not confident enough quite yet with watering enough, too little, too much etc. - I need to get a bit of a routine going, I think. Mind you, these aren't just my first few cannabis plants. These are my first few plants, ever, full stop. Poor wee things!

What kind of soil do you plan to use?

Chamallacommented7 years ago
@Eryan, For now I've just ordered a bag of Canna BioTerra Plus. But I've also ordered worms for a small wormery, hoping to mix my own soil as soon as etc.

GSC has been hanging in the drying tent for 3 days now. Last night I just couldn't resist the smell any longer and took the first couple of sucker branches off the main colas, trimmed them, and put them on my router ... and, the obviously still chlorophyll-y just-harvested aspect notwithstanding, that amazing aroma is already coming through - in fact it was the very first thing to hit me in the vape, that chewy sickly sweet almost cheese cake-like aroma. Loving it. Had a joint with the rest this morning, and it wasn't even harsh either - that's after 3 days of drying. And it will only get better. Looking forward to those main cola nugs, and by "looking forward to" I mean sitting in front of the drying tent all day, salivating.

@Larimar, it did end up being on the lower end of that very well educated guess, a hair over 20. I'm not sure if that was due to the topping or not though. I'm currently growing 4 of them together, and I'm not going to top them - see how much they yield when I just let them go as they want.

GSC has been chopped after 80 days from sprout. Now hanging in the drying tent, harvest report in a week. I can't begin to describe how much I'm looking forward to this one. The aroma is amazing.

GSC is smelling gorgeous! I want to lick her. But I know that I shouldn't. I haven't.

I think that is the last of the low stress training done for the Girl Scout Cookies. An amazing plant she has been so far, if that isn't down to sheer luck but to genetics then FastBuds have done a fantastic job there. Such a good-natured carefree specimen, she responded extremely well to everything I did. Seems like it was just days ago that I topped her the first time, still in her 1L pot - I was using a magnifying glass to look at those two tiny little blobs of cells that would become the new main growth shoots. Now look at them. =) Now that she has 4 healthy symmetrical main shoots I'm just going to let her do her thing like that, she'll probably yield as much as my entire previous auto grow if not more.

After taking pics, some light bending on the SDH resulted in a fan leaf snapping off (thank feck it was a leaf and not the stem above it). So, not so light, I guess. Anyway. I also removed the leaf on the other side of the node, to keep symmetry of the two stems after the 1st topping.

Very happy with how healthy she's looking despite her treatment at my hands. The stress slows down her vegetative phase a bit, as I could see with my not-so-low stress trained Northern Lights plants - I'm confident that I can top her at least once more, possibly twice. Next up is the Sour Diesel Haze, which will be topped the 1st time one of the coming days.

I'm wondering if Ms Girl Scout Cookies should be moved into her final pot now, or maybe wait a bit longer? I have one space available in my auto cabinet, I could move her there already. She's a week ahead of the Sour Diesel Haze.
