Sweet seeds test grow
Done by Teamquality420
Thanks going to sweet seeds for providing us with some GORGEOUS genetics .
This is the plan , to start perfect and end as close to as possible !
We will have a few variations in pot size and in training to see how things shake out!
We will be using fabric pots out of 3 seeds in each strain placing 1 in a 3 gallon and the other 2 out of the 3 in 5 gallons.
Starting with water cups then to a paper Towel on a bag , then into a solo red cup , before being moved to there final spot .
I AM SO SORRY THAT MY GERMINATION PICTURES DIDNT MAKE IT . But they all popped very nicely within 72 hours . All but one.....
after 5 days the final seed I kinda gave up on er because sometimes it just happens !
So this bag is on the floor 10 days later , I find the bag and the go toss it out .
...
..
. I open the bag to see it had germinated !!!
On
The floor... if that doesn't signal tough RESILIENT genetics I don't know what will!!!!
Week 1
In this week we put the sprouted seeds into red solo cups . Most times I take the seed pop it into a jiffy seven then directly into the final pot. Recently I have found for my grow style that putting it in a red solo first gave the root a little more time to develop before going into a large pot !
So this week we took a little bit of a pounding, but this was a new area for us . So any grower would know that there will be mistakes. It is what you do to fix them ; that is what DEFINES you a grower. These photos are arranged by chronological order end to start :)
So another learning week for the team , this is a new area and we started to get yellowing and stressed leaves from all the plants , this can happen with autos so what we did was upped the nutrients and gave them a full water
Now we are talking!
This was when these girls really started to like what we are doing. We decided to tip these then we did variations to the plants yo see which training they liked best .
We will keep ypu posted on what training produced the most medical!!!!
Week 5
So now it is starting to look like the red poison will be the quickest of the 3 strains to finish, as you can see there are ALOT of leaves on these girls. Boy I am happy we put up supports !
Everything is starting to feel a bit better each day !
This week our main focus was defoliation and lst . Also to get the branches to attach on the tomato cage thus opening up the crowded parts of the canopy.
Week 7
We have the red poisons ( and yes this is the 7th week for sure !) Just out infront of the rest of the pack.
The next to start budding was the crystal candy.
The gorilla girl xl has not yet started flower, we will continue to try our best to open the canopy by lst and by taking un needed side branches/ Fan leaves
The red poison are just getting closer and closer to the end of their life cycle.
The gorilla girl xl is still leaves and is just starting to show bud sites , there is a whole bunch of leaves so again our week was defoliation.
The crystal candy is really starting to show up ! The majority of stretch has stopped for all strains.
Week 9
So this week at the very end we took down one of the three red poison . These girls didn't look like they had much more to grow. Now as an experienced grower I found it was quite tricky to determine the cloud/clear ratio with all these gorgeous colors 😍
Crystal candy- they really just coming on beautifully nothing to complain about these nicely tightened nodular spacing .
Gorilla girl xl - we are STILL taking leaves off this one, we got to the point after long enough I felt I was doing damage so we just left them to grow nicely .
This week we will continue to repeat our nutrient solution as we feel that the plants are drinking and growing about as much as they can . We are now in week 3 of the deep freeze . So 3 weeks of nothing but below-20 to -50 so no matter what or where we had issues . But if we can pull what we did in a troubled grow , we are gonna smash it when everything goes right !!!
Week 12
In this week we had a few chopped down and we will add those to each week to let you know the yeilds , I am just trying to wait so the proper nutrient company can get its yeild recording.
This also will be updated with out calendar and notes:)
In week 13 a very important note for the gorilla girl xl , we harvested one a bit too early in my opinion,
The note being there is a substantial amount of growth for the gorilla girls in week 13 so maybe watch for that!
Crystal candy is a majority done !
Red poison is on curing At 20°c
This was a very interesting grow. I felt I could have done better with what I had ( but I 99% of the time feel I could have done better).
We were able to turn a good majority of the trichomes a pink / purple tint . The look of these buds is something you will not see unless you are face to nug. It will finish almost black !
What would I have done differently?
Well these girls got ALOT of stress early on and never fully recovered. So if I was to run it again I would make sure these plants had a PERFECT WORLD.
Thank you too sweet Seeds for getting the genetics on the site to get the job done.
Team Q420 is looking forward to showing off these top of the line auto genetics in the future!!
Harvest comments well this plant was a joy to grow I can't say enough about it it was easy not too easy with a little bit of wonder at the end of the grow. I wondered how does something that is less than 20" tall yield over QP??? If you were to go back and look at the whole entire grow we had a lot of problems during the beginning due to a new area and the 1st Winter we had in that area . Although We had already prepared for Winter with a insulated base Pan heater it just wasn't enough. We had already prepared for Winter with a insulated base Pan heater it just wasn't enough,So we tried to put a nice propane natural gas heater to the space. Still the fight against the element rages on. So we hit back countering with a couple of probe controlled 100 watt pad heaters. At that point We were just barely able to keep the soil above 15゚C. I could only imagine the difference in yield if we had no stress during weeks 3 through 5.
Song on all if I was to share anything with the community it would be crystal candy axelle very distinctive xl grow if you've done any of the X l's in the past you know what your in for! it is alonger grow But it is worth it!
One sentence to sum up growing crystal candy xl? A bountiful harvest of high thc bubble gum flavor nugs the size of your hand !
The plants stayed
Relatively short , with every branch a cola , Wherever you looked there was Bud sites. The colaz were about 12 inches . I could only imagine what would happen without the stress!!
Would I grow this again HELL YEAH :)
Convention we had to female types one was a little bit darker than the other 3 we also conducted survey to figure out what worked best for us .
