Hello fellow growers,
4th week for the Double Grape and we are still looking good. She recovered perfectly after the topping, in fact, she didn't seem to suffer from it at all.
I did some light training on the lower branches, I am waiting for the top branches to grow a bit more before I start to manipulate them.
She's showing some pistils, now the real fun begins. ๐
I am still following the HESI feeding schedule and we are doing just fine.
This week I added HESI Boost which role is to activate flowering.
That's it for now, don't hesitate to check my Instagram page @harukisan_grower_cz .
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week! ๐
Iโve just been through a series of smaller-than-I-would like harvests. Iโve been lollipopping and removing old leaves and doing LST with a scrog net.
I did a big one a while ago that I more regularly defoliated. Each cola was heavy with bud. The quality wasnโt as good but that is probably down to the lights I used at the time. Then I just got tired of all the attention I was giving it. Iโm starting to wonder if the increased weight was due to the defoliation? Gonna have another go at it and see if it makes a difference. They were healthy plants and it certainly didnโt slow them down.
@Lucidite, maybe I should try a comparison grow with two plants, same strain and same care, except I would defoliate one and leave the other one alone. It would not prove anything but it could be a cool experiment.
For this one maybe Iโll defoliate this week, Iโm still thinking about it.
Hey Mate, Servus!
Very nice job on the double grape๐๐!
Concerning your question,
I use to do a final defoliation on my Autos in the 3rd week of flower. That's the Information I got from PEV, Sensi and a couple of other Breeders.
Good luck. I would be tempted to keep the lights turned up if you can afford the growth. I have Mars hydro veg lights that are half the strength of the flowering Mars hydro TS 600. It keeps the growth under control. I canโt afford to let then go much taller than 1/2 metre including pot.
@Harukisan, well I do agree with them and I do keep my veg lighting lower. Mostly because of the lighting I have available and the need to stop them growing too tall. Iโm just saying I might set it higher. But if you want to be sure, get a light meter and a reputable chart from online. Iโve used a free phone app which does a reasonable job of getting lumens or PPFD. My veg Lights are about 50% of the flowering lights.
