Put 5 seeds into a glass of room temp water in a dark warm space. All 5 seeds sank to the bottom of the glass within 24 hours . Placed seeds in between 2 wet paper towels spaced apart from each other and left in a warm dark space with a inside a small bag to help the humidity. All 5 seeds spouted their tap roots within 24 hours. Planted 3 seeds into 12lt fabric pots and one into a small plastic pot. (Seedling stage) only feeding a very small amount of water.
Plants looks healthy with the feeds now mixing in 10L batches 18ml of Canna A and B. Taking a long time for the larger pots to dry not sure if I should of maybe started off with smaller pots but the plants seem happy so far.
All plants seem happy with feed so far only watering when the pots are dry and feel light. LST - secured main stems down to open the canopy up to expose as many lower bud sites on the special queen planted in the larger fabric pots. I have one another special queen growing in a smaller pot I am planning to put into a larger pot and possibly do some training with it later down the line.
ladies were feed late into last week so no feed this week. This did seem like a long time to not feed or water them but they seem in good shape so far. Transplanted my other special queen into a larger 10lt plastic pot and topped once later in the week. More lst to help expose lower bud sites.
All 4 plants still looking ok more lst to help airflow to the lower parts of the plant and expose the lower buds sites. Upped the feed a bit and they seemed to take it ok. Lollipopped some of the lower parts of the plants to help drive growth upwards. I broke a large stem at the knuckle from over handling them and not allowing enough slack with the lst wire 🤦♂️🏻 . Repaired it as best I could and it seems to be healing fast. Lesson learnt.. some deficiency’s showing on the lower larger fan leafs not sure the reason for this but it’s not showing on all on them thankfully.
Added an inline extractor and filter which seems to be helping with the overall airflow in the grow space. More Lst, light defoliation and lollipopping this week. Trying to handle them as little as possible to avoid any more stress.
Switched lights to 12/12 hour cycle. Upped the feed a bit again although a few days later I did notice a very small amount of nutrient burn at the tips of some of the leafs. 4 out of my 4 plants have started to show signs of being a female in flower. Very small pistil hairs appearing around the bud sites. I am having trouble with keeping the humidity below 50 at night when the lights go out especially after a feed. Due to potential light leaks the tent it sealed apart from the lower vents which isn’t helping. Some light defoliation.
Happy with everything so far. The bud development has increased growing more and more pistils and all 4 plants had a decent stretch this week. Some light lst to help open up the canopy and improve overall airflow. The smell is picking up a good bit too.
End of week 3 flower stretch. More defoliation on day 21 removing some undergrowth and some of the bigger fan leafs that were blocking the lower bud sites. All 4 plants seem to be happy and healthy and are now starting to show trichomes developing around the bud sites.
No issues so far 🤞🏻
I added a Scrog net to help provide more separation opening up the canopy to give a bit more light down to the lower buds. Looks like the buds are developing nicely and are producing a lot more trichomes this week. Upped the pk13/14 to 1.5ml/L. The smell is starting to pick up a bit but nothing too heavy yet.
Not much to report this week.
Really impressed with the results so far from the Mars hydro TS600 the bud development seems to be pretty good. This strain is producing a lot of trichomes and the smell is starting to pick up at good bit now going into week 6. Lowered the amount of Canna A an B feed to 2.4ml/L and PK13/14 to 1.0ml/L. Some light defoliation to help get more light coverage to the lower buds.
All seems ok so far🤞🏻
Happy with the bud production throughout week 6 also the smell is also quiet strong this week 😬. No more PK and maybe one more very light feed next week before I start flushing. Will also lower the LED to 12 inches for the remainder of the this grow.
The trichomes towards the end of this week had started to go slightly cloudy so I decided not to feed and to start the flushing process instead.
I flushed the medium with a couple of litres of water per plant until I got a good amount of run off. I think I may have not back off the nuets enough on the few last feeds as the majority of the leafs on all 4 plants are still quiet dark green in colour with no yellowing.
I did a good amount of defoliation at the start of week to try and get as much light to the lower areas as possible. The buds are still developing ok I think they feel dense, they won’t be massive buds but I am hopeful for a decent yield overall.
The smell is strong but the carbon filter is working great.
Happy growing so far 🤞🏻
Just water again this week to help with the flush along with some light defoliation.
The majority of the trichomes look mostly cloudy now and I’ve started to see a very small amount of them turn amber so all going well I will be turning the lights off for 48 hours some stage early next week.
The buds have developed really well from the bottom up over the last couple of weeks and are stacking up nicely.
The smell has also seriously increased this week. 😳
Hopefully close to lights out just a light watering when dry this week while they finish up.
The trichome development has been slower than I thought but I am checking daily and they still look to me like they are in the stage of turning cloudy with less and less clear ones showing along with a small amount of amber ones starting to appear more and more.
Some of the girls are developing a little slower than the others which is to be expected and they are fading in colour so it looks like they are consuming the last remaining nutrients from their reserves at different stages.
Lights out possibly tomorrow or the the day after all going well.
Hopefully the next update is the harvest. 🙌
Peace.
This strain was fun to grow and I would definitely grow it again down the line. I managed to get some decent sized buds with good density for my setup. The high is a nice mellow uplifting feeling that tastes and smells like citrus fruits. A smooth enjoyable smoke 🙂
Harvest!
I turned the lights out for 48 hours before harvesting to hang dry for 8-9 days at RH 55% Temp (19 degrees)
Total yield after final trim was 108 Grams (3.8 Oz) plus just over an Oz of trim and larf that I am going to be using to make some edibles.👽
I am really happy with the overall yield for my first attempt the Mars Hydro ts600 put in a great service for its size and power.
The smell is an intense citrus fruity aroma and the smoke itself is smooth which gave me a really nice mellow uplifting happy high.
I am really looking forward to seeing how this strain cures over the next 2 months.
Growing 4 plants in this setup was definitely a stretch but I learned a lot and got some nice weed that smokes and tastes great already. I have upgraded my LED to a Spider farmer SF2000 and plan to try out 2 auto strains on the next run to see how I get on.
Cannot wait to grow again and update a new diary hopefully very soon.
Peace ✌️
@Dingle, yeah man. Especially as a new grower. I probably should have started with soil if I'm honest. This first grow is going to be poor, but hopefully I will have learned enough for my next to be a good one!
Nice man! It will be less work, hopefully more yield as well! I wish I started with photos as I could have kept her out of flower and got some more veg time!
I bet you're looking forward to that smoke!
@BlueDreamer1, thank you! yea I can imagine it gets real tricky trying to pin point what the issues are when ever they pop up. I am thinking of trying auto seeds for the next run and maybe just 2 plants this time. I have some northern lights auto seeds so I might get them going as soon as these ladies are dried.
@Dingle, I hope soo! It's so difficult to figure out what's going on. I think it's been a multitude of issues if I'm honest. All due to me obviously!
Mate you've honestly done amazing.. if mine turn out half that I'd be happy! You'll know for next time! Are you starting another right away?
Very similar to what I'm attempting as my first grow, except, I'm trying for just one plant.
Are the green sticks something you're using for your LST to tie off to? Can you show a picture of that?
Also, when you top and defoliate, are you just plucking with your fingers or using scissors?
Looks good. Going to follow this grow!
@Dingle,Thanks for the info. Def going to hop on amazon and get some sticks for a similar technique. So lst at first, then followed by dingle sticks? lol. Doing this. Thanks!
Hi @Cooklung, I just use the sticks to help open up the canopy where possible, I don’t use any ties I just place the sticks in between some of the stems to help provide some separation from each other. I was using wire initially to lst the branches outwards towards the rim of the pots which worked great. I use scissors to do any defoliation as am I new to this myself so I wanted to use scissors in case I cause any damage stripping leafs off by hand. Good luck with your first grow! Thanks for the follow 👍
