Placed seed in glass of water & stored in a dark place for 24hours then moved the seed to paper towel for a further 24hr dark period.
This seed was strong and ready for its forever home already after 48hrs so I transferred it to a 3L air pot and moved it into the tent. I only moistened the area around the seed and gave it a mist; all with ph 6-6.5 tap water.
I then placed a small recycled water bottled to create some extra humidity while I don’t have a humidifier present. I will also be misting this frequently due to this reason.
Great start to week 1!
Day 0.5 - I called this day 0.5 as I had only transplanted the seed at about 10:00am and this photo was 5:30pm the same day. She was popping her head but not completely. I just misted every couple hours.
Day 1 - Official Day 1 as she is facing up towards the light and looking healthy! Just continued misting every couple hours or so.
Day 2 - same thing
Day 3 - same thing
Day 4 - I changed the humidity enclosure on it because she had outgrown the first wind barrier.
Day 5 - was only misting 2-3 times a day at this point and making sure the substrate had not gotten dry. Still with ph correct water.
This ends the week as I will just continue misting and making sure she has not dried out the substrate.
See you next week for the first time I will look at feeding this strong seedling 💪
Week 2!
Day 8: First 5 tip leaves are now visibly coming through which is a great sign. So I will proceed to give it the first feed.
- I only used about 30% portion of the recommendations on my nutrients as the last autos I grew were very sensitive I can only imagine comparing to photos as I have YET to grow a photoperiod.
- I also only tried to lightly soak the medium until slight run off but the air pots didn’t help with this. I will continue to watch it closely this week to make sure it doesn’t dry out at all and will be misting only occasionally now.
OTHER NOTES:
- I have turned the lights up unfortunately due to her sharing a tent with others I hope this doesn’t stunt the amazing growth of young skywalker. In a few weeks she will have the tent to herself and back in optimal veg conditions.
Day 9: Looks like she has responded well to the first feed yesterday and has grown a lot in 24 hours between pictures.
Day 10: Solid growth and drinking well I will check on her and give her a regular ph water at some point till next weeks feed.
Day 11: Nothing but continued growth to report. Will hopefully not have to water for another day or so but my conditions are not optimal as my humidity is low currently.
Day 12: Looked alittle dry today so I gave her a small top up of ph water.
Day 13: Topped her today to try and limit the height and size. Also to focus on a few main colas this time I may change this on the fly.
Day 14: Recovering well from topping with no signs of stress. Gave her the second feed today but still going very easy on the nutes at this point.
Until next week, Happy Growing!
Week 3:
Day 15: Growing solid still however some light spotting started on one of the leaves could be a deficiency. I will try to monitor this closely to fix and identify.
Day 16: Lost a top today but all is good as she is recovering fine. I only have a small space anyway so this will help.
Day 17: Needing water almost everyday now which is a good sign. Will increase feed next week now.
Day 18 : Defoliation today of some fan leaves.
Day 19: Gave some more ph water today and adjusted ties holding down.
Day 20: just adjusting tie downs today to even it out in thirds.
Day 21: Fed nutes again today as they are showing some looks of hunger I believe. Also adjusting ties on daily atm to get the 3 main colas where I want.
Until next week! Happy growing 🥦
Week 4 begins!
Very happy to see this girl still vegging after all the mistakes made in training this time. Hopefully I will get another solid week before signs of flower begin and I slow training down.
Day 22: Just moved the ties around today. Didn’t need anymore water. Still showing slight deficiencies so I will up the ppm next feed if this doesn’t rectify soon.
Day 23: NTR
Day 24: Pistols out today so I will ease up on training and maintain current shape. Glad the main colas made it to the edge of the air pot at least as I was aiming for a tiny more stretch. However, this was my fault for my LED brightness and height surely cause this limited stretch.
Day 25: Stretching & growing a lot still and I’m running out of room currently for this quick growth.
Day 26: Slightly adjusted lst on main colas as I won’t have much time to give this girl for the next 2 weeks.
This is the end of the week in terms of pictures but I really didn’t do anything for a couple days as I was focusing on other plants and making space.
Day 26
Week 5 -
Day 29 - This is the day before I went away for half a week so I tried to drench the substrate more then usual and my lights were turned down for the next 4 days. I wouldn’t recommend this but it’s just what I had to do.
You can see the stretch just from Day 26-29!
Day 33 - I made it back and the low light intensity caused even more of a stretch so I decided to clean everything up the way I wanted it even tho she’s flowering.
I defoliated and just tied down all the promising tops to get an even canopy and promote some growth back towards the centre (highest part of the canopy/plant). This strain seems to not care what I do it will just grow grow and grow.
This will be it for the week as I start getting deficiencies probably from the neglect she has received lately.
Week 6:
Day 37 - Started getting some yellowing on the lower leaves and some brown spots on the tips, I just added some other nutrients this week so could be issues with that. I will just have to monitor and see what happens. I’m in the middle of harvesting/drying my first ever run so it’s a learning process and taking some time away from this.
Good news is, I now have plenty of room in the tent for Skywalker to take over like it’s been trying.
Day 39 - The yellowing is just awful now so I might have a nitrogen deficiency from rising ph. I will have to get this one back on track this week when I get some time spare.
Day 40 - looking alittle better after some mycorrhizae added to help nitrogen uptake.
Day 42 - some defoliation of some dying leaves
Day 43 - ntr
Week 7
Not much to report. Basically just slightly increasing nutrients and adjusting lights for my other plants in the tent.
Seems to be going well but decreased yield from what I was hoping. Think I stunted the stretch when I had to go away.
We will see how she fills out over the next 2 weeks.
Week 8
Day 51 - Gave a flush today at PH 6.3, hope this next 2 weeks provides a lot of growth.
Day 53 - finally stacking a little frost on but lots of new growth starting.
Day 55 - starting a 14 day flush today in the hopes we can finish on day 70. May not happen.
@Charbs, I almost picked up the zkittles berry blast and am very sad I missed out of those so I got these instead.
I’ll be following that grow of yours for sure! Good to hear some feedback on S.A.G as I couldn’t find anything online in my brief research.
