Alright guys this will be my last diary for a little while until I change housing. Six Shooter never germinated and unfortunately Fastberry doomed herself from the very beginning tying her root system into a knot. SO Tangie'matic and Pineapple Express will be bringing in the summer until I have to stop for a few months. Just water for the next few days for PE. T'M will get a microscopic amount of Grow Big to start off week 2. Views are inflated by 325 thanks to the mess ups.
These girls are coming around nicely. I gave them a little bit of Grow Big this week to kick them off. Pineapple Express is developing much slower than Tangie but I'm sure shell explode soon. Her leaves are so shiny and feel like velvet, she has an exotic future in store for sure.
So far so good. Tangie got a little bit of Grow Big this week and she responded well. Still sticking with just water for this Pineapple Express since FastBuds website says she doesn't like added nitrogen. I hope she picks up soon; she's kind of on the stocky side. I've been having trouble keeping the humidity up so I've gone back to the old wet towel method
Tangie really shot up this week and is looking swell. Her leaves are beautiful with no signs of deficiencies. Hopefully I can keep it that way. PE is only about 8 inches tall. I hope she explodes soon or she won't be much of a yielder. If that's the case the soil was probably a little too "hot" for her since I only used Fox Farm Ocean Forest without the Happy Frog to balance it out. Happy growing!
They are officially both tied down. I wish the Pineapple Express wasn't such midget but I'm 100% positive her buds will be exquisite. I just might not be sharing this round 😋🍍. Tangie'matic is really exploding though. Her canopy is so strong and evenly spread like a 'sea of green.' I took about 6 inches away from her by tying her down but she's getting taller by the day. I'm hoping she keeps getting taller. I'm rooting for her to be my biggest plant yet 💪🏽
Week 6 and they are in full flower mode now. Although the PE was planted 4-7 days after Tangie, she expressed herself to a similar finish time. Tangie is really starting to put out feels for her smell; sweet citrus honey aroma that makes your eyebrows borrow and your sinuses tingle. She currently smells exactly like orange tictacs. I cant wait to taste her. I've been giving them water since their last feed. They'll get fed early in week 7. Hoping to fatten these beautiful ladies up.
So far so good with this round. They are stacking up nicely and pouring on the trichomes. The Tangie was starting to show the beginnings of a cal mag deficiency so they were both flushed this weekend with water between 6.7 and 7.0 pH to optimize calmag uptake and rinse away any salt buildup that could potentially lock them out. They are both pouring on the smells. Pineapple hasn't really flaunted her smells yet but Tangie is super citrusy like orange tic tacs with a heavy dose of weediness. I'm using a negative pressure system to negate house smells (roommates don't know) by keeping the pressure in the room lower than the house aka im blowing air out my window with a fan lol.
These girls keep cruising along! They're a little funky you but nothing this negative pressure room system can't handle. The Tangie is about 1-2 weeks out and PE is 2-3 weeks out. I was disappointed earlier w/ the size of PE but fastbuds genetics make up for it 2nd to none w/ a myriad of bud sites, and rock hard density. These PE buds remind me of rock candy. I may actually pull 2 oz off her anyways, fingers crossed
I wish there was away to post smells on here. We need some wiz kids to get on incorporating scent into technology so we can share the best part of these flowers. Tangie is soooo citrusy, I can feel it's tang in my nostrils as soon as I open my door. She's getting big, really bulking up, and starting to look heavy. She'll come down within a week maybe Thursday. Pineapple Express has really grown on me with her super dense pine cone esque bud structure. Definitely a foxtailer. She's a cutie. I haven't quite figured out her smell yet, rn she's tropical with some mean bass funk in the background. She has about 2 more weeks o think since she's 4 days younger than Tangie.
She did very well in terms of weight for her size thanks to her rock hard pine cones. Growing her was easy although she may have been stunted in growth in the veg stage secondary to "hot" soil (she's sensitive to nitrogen). She was small but had lovely dark green leaves and large buds with plenty of bud sites.
UPDATE: Alright guys she has officially fully developed with a 2 month Cure in wide mouth quart sized mason jars. I honestly was worried she was just going to only smell tropical (as if thats actually something to worry about haha) without a hint of pineapple. She never gained that pineapple aroma during flower (she smelled like tropical mangos like a mild FastBuds Green Crack BUT that long Cure unleashed her full potential! She smells purely of overly ripe Pineapple and she tastes exactly the same; sweet juicy tantalizing pineapple. My girlfriend described her as "fancy Pineapple cocktail," and loves to vape her.
Taste: sweet juicy pineapple in he vape (Arizer Air). Pineapples and flowers in the bowl.
Effect: very relaxing elegant happy high. This strain has not induced sleepiness in anyone who has tried her from my personal experience. So she's definitely a good chill high.
Density: 10/10 super rock hard pine cone structured buds w/ a myriad of trichomes.
Allure: she's quite the looker. My favorite architectural structure of the Fastbuds strains Ive tried thus far. Tell me what ya think!
Cure: She hung dry for 4 days and then was transferred to two quart sized mason jars with an inch to half inch of room from the bud to the seal. Every day for the first two weeks I dump them out on a clean hard surface (cleaned each time with a damp rag no cleaners obviously) three times a day. I make sure they break apart to minimize any concentrations of moisture. Theyre only out for like 1-3 minutes before theyre popped back into their homes. For the next 2 weeks, I open the lid for 1-3 minutes and shake them up. For the last 4 weeks, I only open them for 1-3 minutes once per week (I really cant help myself with sticking my nose in the jar or tasting these delectable treats more than once per week, but i try....). Always always always cure your buds. Youll thank yourself for all your patience later, guaranteed.
FastBuds Pineapple Express really is a delicious summer treat with balanced sativa indica properties. She tastes so refreshingly good in a vape. Such a soft elegant relaxing high. She doesnt make you sleepy either so its great for after work, chilling with friends on the late night, post show/ concert chill seshes etc. I really cant wait to enjoy her on the beach 🌊 🍍😎
She smells purely of orange tic tacs. Shes been curing for about 8-9 weeks. She was a large beautiful plant and fun to grow. Her root system really filled the 5 gallon pot beyond max. I wonder what she could do in a 10 with depth. Her buds are airy during harvest but really shrivel up (in a good way) creating tight clean looking buds during Cure. And these girls are quite the red heads. Fastbuds hit it on all cylinders with this selection.
Taste: Orange Tic Tacs: very citrusy and sweet.
Effect: she is definitely sativa dominant. She makes for a great wake and bake. She's like caffeinated orange juice. Great head high with a relaxing body stone after 30 minutes to an hour. IF you stay active, you never lose that positivel clear-thinking head high. My girlfriend and I love taking her to shows/ concerts, walks, and hiking. You could probably work out with her I feel you're into that, but that's not my cup of tea aka bowl of weed.
Growing her was easy. She does have somewhat of a weedy smell in flower but it's not overpowering even with her large size. She loves to eat and drink.
Check out the Pineapple Express harvest for details about curing.
She was an absolute treat to grow and more of a treat to smoke. The 2 month Cure finally softened her smoke and emphasized that sweet tangerine/ orange tic taco smell/ taste. A genetics.
HALP! Anyone know of any other @FastBuds strains that are lesser on the continuum of "weed-smelling?" Six Shooter did not germinate after a 24 hour soak and 72 hours in-between damp paper towels in an open ziplock at room temp. I just popped a Tangie'matic seed in a glass of tap water yesterday and will move it to the paper towel method tonight. Fastberry has broken the surface of dirt but is NOT looking great. She looks yellow and contorted, so as a precaution I would like to have a back up seed.
I think they look okay and only time I seen drooping on a plant is to much water but I know you're a seasoned veteran at this but looks good from what I see
This looks like it was a KILLER grow. I see some experience shining through here. Nice job! I am attempting my first "topless" SCROG (trying to bend instead) with 6 different strains right now, of which one is FastBuds Pineapple Express. It would be cool if you would follow the grow and make a suggestion or two. - Zannabis7
