I placed two seeds in a glass of melted snow at 70 degrees. The first seed sank after 2 hours and the second after 3. The seeds were removed from the water at 8 am on the 24th (16 hours of soak) and placed in paper towel to continue the germination over the next few days. The seeds were removed and planted Feb 27 into peat pellets and directly into their 5 gallon fabric pots
Two days after seeds were planted both have now broken the surface, it is difficult to tell in the photos. The first one has straightened out and is turning green with some small leaves, the second has just broken the surface and is sitting somewhat curled over (same as plant one as if yesterday morning before straightening out)
Day 8 of veg both plants are looking healthy, plant 1 is standing nice and tall and has nice leaves formed with what appears to be more of the stem growing out of the centre. Plant 2 seems slightly stunted in its growth compared to plant 1, the leaves are odd and irregular but is a nice healthy green.
Day 10 of veg. Plant 1 seems healthy and tall, has started growing a second set of leaves from the centre of the original two. Plant 2 still doesn’t seem to want to do anything height wise, but the leaves are progressing, also appears to have a second set of leaves coming from the centre. New camera is arriving today so will be able to get cleaner photos for future posts.
Day 12, plant 1 looks to be very healthy and standing about 3 inches, plant 2 seems to be struggling somewhat, but seems to be rebounding.
Week 3 day 1 of veg and both plants seem to be in the same stage of growth even though plant 2 is significantly smaller. Both look nice and green and healthy. Previous advice said i may have been over watering so have cut each plant back to about 250ml per day.
Day 22 of veg and both plants look healthy, plant 1 is about 5-6 inches tall, plant 2 is about 3-4, still slightly smaller but still looking healthy.
Day 23 slight hiccup, apparently when taking my day 22 photos I left my light off when closing up the tent. Thankfully they are in veg so hopefully not to much harm down as the light was off for about 26 hours before being turned back on.
Day 24 I have added an Exhale CO2 bag to the tent under advice from another grower. Both plants seem to be healthy and resilient. Temperature has gone up into the low 80’s in the tent with the warmer weather coming with spring, so will be monitoring to ensure the plants don’t get to hot.
Day 26 plant 1 seems to be doing extremely well, plant 2 seems fairly stunted in its growth, it is healthy and green looking but about half the size if plant 1. It seems to be at the same stage if growth as plant 1, but the spacing between the nodes is very very short. I also tried placing the CO2 bag directly above plant 2 to see is that will help it out, I originally hung it close to plant one and it shot up an extra 2 inches in approx 3 days.
Day 29 and the start of week 5 of veg. Plant 1 is easily twice the height of plant 2. Both continue looking healthy despite plant 2’s smaller stature.
Day 32 and both plants have seemed to have grown taller, plant 1 is 11.5 inches and plant 2 is 5.
Day 33 topped both plants today and started with LST
Day 36 Both plants seem to be taking to LST fairly well. Have switched on both veg and bloom lights now. Considering doing some trimming of Plant 2 as it is small and compact and I believe could use more light to the lower section.
Day 38 Experienced some major drooping over the past two days, didn’t take pics but wish I would have. Major issue seemed to be that when my reserve of melted snow ran out and I switched to tap water (which I allowed to dechlorinate) I didn’t check the PH, which I later found out was between 7.5-8. I corrected my water supply by bringing the PH down to 6.5 using white vinegar.
Day 41 After battling PH issues all week I think we are finally in an upward trend. I have tested and retested all of my water jugs are sitting between 6.2-6.5, so hopefully over the next few days the negative affects subside.
Day 43 Both plants have seen minimal grow last week due to the PH issue I was having after switching water sources. Have started adding molasses to their feeding schedule to help them with nutrients.
Day 46 I have start a little more intensive LST with Plant 1 to start to spread it out for when the ScrOG goes in. I also added some coffee grounds to the top of the soil to hopefully increase nitrogen to the roots.
Day 48 Plant 1 is continuing to yellow slightly and have found 2-3 lower fan leaves that have dried up that I have removed, Plant 2 although still stubby, is a much healthier green than plant 1. I will be picking up some nutrients from a local hydroponics store tomorrow and start adding them to their feeding on Day 50
Day 50 Both plants received their first feeding of Future Harvest Holland Secret 3 part combo and in less than 12 hours have perked up and look very energetic! If all goes well I will hopefully flipping to bloom in week 9 or 10
Day 58 Plant 1 is grow tall, seriously considering switching over to flower as to not have them out grow my tent. Plant 2 is finally starting to thicken out and stretch upwards.
Day 64 decided to hold to plants off from flowering until next week to try and give plant 1 some extra time to help some deficiencies it has been showing since the PH issue 3 weeks ago. Plant 2 continues to be smaller and more lush and green than her sister, overall i think both plants are doing very and am excited to be flipping them next week.
Day 67 made the mistake of accidentally leaving my lights off for 18 hours when I was taking photos for my grow diary, the ladies spent 18 hours in the dark and after much deliberation, decided to switch my light schedule over to 12-12.
Day 74 both plants have started to stretch with the introduction of the 12/12 cycle 6 days ago. Both plants seem to be recovering nicely from their defoliation earlier this week as well
Day 78 both plants seem to be developing pistil hairs nicely. Both have stretched a bit but nothing too crazy over all.
Day 84 both plants are starting to really show the presence of pistil at the tips and at the bases of leaves down the colas
Day 85 both plants are starting to develop bud sites nicely. I have now switch from Future Harvest Bud Start to Future Harvest Ton O’ Bud for the mid flowering phase, along side the Future Harvest Micro, Grow, and Bloom 3 part system. I attempted to install my ScrOG this week but unfortunately the product seems to be too large for my 3x3 Vivosun tent despite the fact this is a Vivosun 3x3 net.
Day 87 upon opening the tent for their scheduled feeding I had noticed that one branch on Plant 2 that I had previously tied to another because it was having issues with it sagging had now dragged the other branch down with it, so bit the bullet and took some time to figure out a way to stretch the ScrOG I purchased that was made to large to fit. The ScrOG is now in and helping support the extra weight while they develop throughout the flowering phase. I notice the stems seem softer and are having more trouble supporting the weight in plant 2 compared to plant 1. Also, went down and did my week 3 of flower defoliation today.
Day 92 Both plants seem to be progressing through flower nicely. They still stretched a bit at the end of week three of flower, causing me raise the lights again slightly. Hopefully the stretch stops otherwise I may have to find other options for how my light is rigged.
Day 96 Bud sites on both plants seem to be progressing nicely, filling out with pistil hairs nicely as the plants progress into the flower cycle
Day 99 Plant 1 still seems to be stretching towards the light pretty intensely, have been told it may be not enough light. I have ordered a Mars Hydro TS1000 and will be swapping in once it arrives. Plant two is much lower and spread our, the bud sites are looking like that are filling in quite nicely on both plants. Today was the last feeding of future harvest ton O’ bud, will be switching over to Bud Boom for the final weeks of flower.
Day 101 came with big issues for plant 2. Upon opening the tent for their regularly scheduled water every 2 days of 2 litres of water and found Plant 2 to be sagging heavily, every branch was laid over, and the last few inches of every stem was rubbery and droopy. I rushed and raised the scrog and tied a few branches up to the roof to help keep them vertical hopefully while they recover. Both pots were very light so were very dry, from the answers from the questions area people figure not enough water/start watering more frequently and possibly poor lighting which hopefully this TS1000 will help with when it arrives.
Day 103 Mars Hydro TS1000 arrived today, replaced the Tmlapy 1500 that will now be going in to my veg tent
Day 104 Trichromes have been forming for a while, got around to taking some pics
Day 107 The Mars Hydro TS1000 has been at 100% light intensity for 2 days now and the plants seem to be loving the new light. Slowly seeing buds starting to fill in more and more.
Day 108 The ladies are both looking wonderful! The bud sites are starting to fill in nicely, the Mars Hydro TS1000 has made a huge difference in progressing flower.
Day 110 Updated with some photos of the buds coming along
Day 124 After a lot of consideration I decided to remove Plant 2 has been removed from the tent and placed outside for the remainder of her life, she was weak and underdeveloped so I installed a tomato cage in her pot and tied her up and placed her outside. She will be placed in the garage in the evenings and put back in the morning to maintain the 12/12 cycle. Plant 1 is now solely occupying the tent and will remain that way until harvest.
Day 131 This plant was experiencing nutrient burn and nitrogen toxicity, it has just been fed its third straight watering of 5.9-6.0 PH water to hopefully flush and balance out this poor girl as she progresses through flower
Day 141 After doing 4 straight flushes to help with the nitrogen toxicity and nutrient burn in the plants, I reintroduced only the bud boom into the plants, leaving out the 3 part holland secret nutrients to finish out this grow.
The buds continue to thicken as time goes by. Hoping she is able to chopped before i have to go on vacation. I removed a small bud last week and let it dry for 4-5 days and sampled it, seemed nice.
Very strong smell is now coming from the tent. Buds seem to be filling in nicely and I am hoping that she will start to transition quickly so I can harvest before vacation at the end of the week.
The final stretch is here. I plan on harvesting this saturday/sunday. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to take better pics of the trichomes but from what I saw between returning home and leaving again 24 hours there is lots of cloudy/amber colouring.
Overall I’m happy with how the Blue Dream from Crop Kings came out, despite losing one plant to some odd characteristics likely brought on by being a new grower, but upon receiving input from others, the genetics of that particular plant may have been a little off. I picked a small bud 1 week prior to harvest, and let it dry for 5 days, the wife and I smoked it while camping and thoroughly enjoyed the high it produced.
Obviously the on the scale weight is way off at 1338 G, lots of moisture and tons of stem weight. Will update with a total next week when drying is complete.
After drying for a week I have now jarred and weighed the final result, and the final tally is 140.77 g or 4.969oz.
A very energetic and long lasting high.
