hello again, and welcome to another year of growing with holmes. this time I will be doing an outdoor grow and I will be choosing a barney farms select strain a long with a pyramid seeds one a long side with it, they are Peyote Critical and Do Si Dos. I am currently submerging the seeds in water for 24-48 hours and then transferring them to a ziploc bag to finish the germination process. it should take more than a week so hopefully these pop soon so I can start while the weather is getting warmer. I'll update on the photos on how i germinate them in bags/paper towels so you can try it out if you're a new grower. more next week, see ya.

hello and happy good friday, it's been a crazy month overall with lots of failure to germinate, weather, and mutations but now that the weather is hotter and the days are longer I can finally say we're on the right track. unfortunately, I decided to not risk this years grow with the possibility of lower yields and buds chock full of seeds and to just discard the deformed one then germinate another one. I still have a couple left so i have no problem germinating two seeds just to make sure. the do si dos process from germination to a small container of soil went smoothly and it looks really healthy and promising. the new peyote critical seed sprouted today and looks way better than the one I messed up on. as you may know I will be starting over on the nutrient scheduling for the two new seedlings and have a separate schedule for the super skunk. I feel like this will work better since the two new seedlings have sprouted in the same week and i'd only have to worry about a different feeding for one plant which will be finished in a couple months due to it being an auto. the nutrients i will post here will most likely reflect the two new ones and i might be thinking of doing a diary for the super skunk, in the mean time i hope the weather stays warm for the coming weeks. see you next week!

hello and welcome to uh (week 2) of these do si dos and peyote critical strain grows, as you may have noticed i deleted the previous weeks and decided to move on from the disaster of the first germination and seedling process. the two plants are doing well so far and i'm also seeing some second node growth on both plants so hopefully nothing goes wrong. I noticed for every first feeding I do for every grow, they seem to have some sort of nutrient burn or deficiency which leads me to believe that my measurements for nutrients might need to be changed so that they grow more naturally. I could also just use plain ph water but it disrupts the schedule i set up for each grow. I've seen people wing the nutrient feeding for every different grow they do each time and although that sounds ideal, I feel like I should experiment with both soil and soilless mediums and overall try different techniques. I've also decided they seemed healthy enough to just replant them in bigger fabric pots so i don't have to deal with that later on, they love the space and the sun and it's a good change from being in a sun room and isolated from stale air.I don't have much to say about this week, the plants are doing great and the weather is awesome but i'd like to give insight on my experience so far and hopefully it helps with others growing in the same situation i'm in as well. until next time!

hi yall, it's now the end of week 3 and these little seedlings are doing fine, although there was some slight leaf burn from the do si dos probably from the nutrients. the peyote critical seedling got more leaf burn and sometimes I forget that this plant had started a little more later than the do si dos. I should keep track on each feeding for each plant but now that life has become more busier it's gotten more harder. I could give it a plain ph watering just in case it is nutrient burn so for the next feeding, I'll be giving more attention to the peyote strain. overall these two are on their way to the actual vegetative stage and grow thicker stalks and big fan leaves. I still see a tinge of purple on the do si dos and i'm really excited because i've never grew a real dark and mauve pigmented strain, I can't wait until it's true colors show a long with the smell. I also can't wait to see the peyotes potential once it enters the veg stage too. I'll be posting photos later when I have time so keep an eye out. thanks!

it's week 4 and officially a month into all three plants i'm growing. both plants are doing well after a couple weeks of nutrient deficiencies and over watering and I believe the plain ph watering helped with the light cal mag and silicon in it. I might have to do it again with the peyote unless it's something else that's slowing its growth. I will try as many solutions within the week until i see improvement. although I can try many methods on trying to speed up growth, theres some that are out of my hands if its due to temperatures since it's an outdoor grow. I might bring the peyote inside the sun room if it needs the extra warmth and humidity but only when it's strong enough for the natural elements. I will continue to feed the do si dos but will alternate with plain ph and light cal mag if needed but I believe it's on it's way to grow big enough to train and top. i'll probably consider manifolding one of them (most likely the strongest one) but we'll see on the weather and immunity from these two, thanks and see you next week

hello yall, as you may have noticed i skipped a log entry because nothing much had happened to the plants as of late except for some light pest control and taller growth. this week i noticed that the plants have been growing taller and lanky without much main stem support from the peyote critical. the do si dos plant has been exceptional in growth and main stem strength but it could definitely need some support so I made a main stem support crutch with some garden wire and both are now upright and collecting more sun effectively giving them the advantage. they are now in their 2-3 node growth stage and made improvements with the lighter nutrients i gave it last week as well as a plain ph watering in between. it was the same measurements as the week before last except with half the doses for each nutrient except the cal mag and silicon. its starting to look good and i can't wait to see the branches thicken with the main stem too in the coming weeks. see ya soon.

welcome to week 7 and it's been a tough week on the weather since it's been getting a bit chillier than usual here in california but it didn't really stop these two from growing wider leaves and stronger main stems. I removed the crutches from both the do si dos and the peyote critical now that they seem to be strong enough to hold their weight. i'm considering doing a manifold for one or both of these plants to try to take care of training easier and sooner so i won't need to worry about training it later. It might be the peyote critical since it's showing me sativa like growth which makes it a great contender for outdoor environments. but who knows, i might change my mind and you'll see something different next week heh. I gave these two a break from nutrients and gave it a silicon and cal mag only ph watering. the break will benefit them also to rest from nutrient feedings in preparation of mainlining them so theres that to look forward to, ok see you later.

hello and welcome to end of week 8, yes i did it- i started mainlining it and i'm having no regrets to be honest. although the peyote critical didn't look too well after a day of choppin its top, i think it will follow through, it's got it's problems so i think i will try to give more attention from now on to the critical. the do si dos took the first step well and looks like i'll be tying down it's first growth soon. I hope to see some progress and even more excited to see results. i am changing the usual measurements of nutrients to something inclined on growth and repair, see ya guys

welcome to week 9 of these two beautiful plants. the manifold i did previously is doing well with the peyote obviously not taking it so well. I had a feeling this one was going to have a hard time with growth but it might just be a sensitive phenotype. I will be giving it lower doses of nutrients that measure that similar to week 5-6 and will be giving bigger doses when i feel like it's dealing with the training well first. the do si dos is doing very good with consistent growth and healthy leaves with a little curl. something tells me it might be over watering so perhaps i will feed the nutrients I listed or not, or perhaps not only to flush it if i see any more nutrient burns, i'll also be following it up with the botanicare sweet berry but will also be wary about how much to give. ok see you next week.

hey guys so it's now week 10 and training for these two are going great, it's 2 weeks after starting the manifold on each of them and they've grown one or two nodes for both the original nodes i left from the beginning. I'm trying to do at least 4-6 nodes for each plant depending on how they handle it. this week i'm pretty surprised to see that the peyote critical has been recovering the fastest and the do si dos still going strong with great structure but speed has been lacking a little. I might think about giving the do si dos a slightly different measurement of nutrients so it can get a head start but then again i don't want to ruin it's stride at least until i get to 4 nodes. the peyote critical has been wild in form but soon enough I will be doing another cut to start the growth for 4 nodes. i was also thinking if i should tie down the fan leaves apart so they get better light coverage. the next time I will log another entry there might be a dramatic change (or not!) we'll see until then.

it's now week 11 and i've done something a little different in the manifold. I cut the ends off the do si dos plant because it seem like the growth has been on the leaves at the end nodes that was recovering, the ones hanging in between the main stem and the end were doing great and the growths looked healthy and normal so i figured i just snip the ends and have a 8 node plant which means that will be the end of training. the peyote is growing leggy and i'm fine with that so i can be done with training on this one too. for both plants there seems to be one sides growing which means it's not an even height. if it doesn't grow right into the week then i will find a way to cover the bigger growth so the others can catch up. these plants are healing nice and are drinking healthy, i might even do a ph flush once if i see any more weird leaves, until next time.

So is this like a stump of a plant you harvested and you are regenerating it into a new plant or something? Why are all the leaves so mutated looking? And this is week 11? None of this makes sense to me.
