Hey everyone, so my journey back to cannabis after failing my 1st college math class has been hard. Carefully choosing my seeds based on traits and micro-dosing has helped make that possible. Strawberry Cough is one of my absolute favorite strains, because its one of very few that dont give me anxious or unpleasant side effects. This diary I'm determined to seek out more cannabis friendly products. I hope the subtle changes in soil etc will make a huge difference. I am going to try to take advantage of the season and eventually move her outdoors after a several weeks of indoor care. She's beginning life with some small plastic cups for containers and the Fox Farm Ocean Forrest soil, so she can bulk up before moving outdoors. The current indoor lighting is two 100 watt CFL bulbs and clamp light bases. Thank you so much to the GD community for all the tips and education, I hope this little strawberry girl will feel much happier and less mistreated thanks to all your help and advice.

This 2nd week was great, she grew more and opened her couple first sets of leaves. She isn't leaning but standing tall and straight. There was a small spot at the end of one leaf but I'm not going to worry about it, but just do my best to keep her happy and strong. I'm starting to think that having a seed start in a small container does give them a little better early growth than a large container...but perhaps there are drawbacks later when you need to transplant.

This was a good week for the strawberry cough, I think I now have it timed correctly for getting a seed started for outdoor, she should be the perfect size at the time the weather gets good for moving your plant a outside. I was a bit unsure as to how fast the seeds would sprout and grow and what size she might be at time of going outside. Fortunately she hasn't had to much of a stretching problem but continues to make new leaves and grow stronger each day.

This week she began receiving her first doses of nutrients, just the micro nutrients from the Fox Farm trio at a low dose. I've been trying to give her some time in the window each day so she can get familiar with natural sunlight. She's growing beautifully and happily, with minimal abuse. I did notice 1 of her 3 fingered leaves had decided to split itself down the center point...odd but still nice. No 5 fingered leaves yet. Happy Earth Day everyone!

I believe the Strawberry cough is a more dominantly a sativa strain, because of which I've heard they tend to grow taller so I may need to do a few tops on her to try keeping short. I added in the Fox Farm grow bug vegetation nutrient in, as i figure the soil only carries so much in it, and haven't seen any negative effects as of yet, but am still keeping doses at a very low level. Outdoor season is approaching quickly. There was a great boost of leaf growth this week and I'm hopeful once she's transplanted and getting all that sunshine her middle will bulk up, as it is currently not wishing to do so. I'm so excited to see her grow and develop, as she is my favorite lady. Happy growing everyone and Happy Late Arbor Day!

What an oddly unique plant this is turning out to be, she's had uneven new growth nodes, unusual leaves appearing, or uneven leaves. Her transplant was clearly crucial as she was seeming stunted and irregular. I also noticed some of the perilite on top having a very slight green tinge, possibly the algae I was warned could happen. I am not sure if this just happened to be a weak seed or if my growing techniques slowed and disrupted her growth, but I am hopeful that after she adjusts to the transplant this will be a better week. Since I needed to transfer her to a newer bigger pot, I will most likely wait a little while before her outdoor transplant to final container, for fear of shocking her too much too often. I added a small dose of kelp into her diet to help aid with the transition. Happy growing to everyone and thank you for all the helpful advice. I appreciate it more than I can say.

Hey all, so she's gaining height, but has uneven growth nodes both in size and presences. She's had some spotting and dryness on 1 leaf tip. Her soil is not wanting to drain so well in the current pot (poor choice of pot). I hope these irregularities will sort themselves out over time, or at least find a way of dealing with them. I think her transplant went alright as she has not died over the couple weeks, however movement to final container is approaching and essential. I'm thinking a Smart Pot for her final container, because i don't feel safe planting her in ground after noticing the grey decaying matter in my soil. Thanks for all the communities help and encouragement I appreciate you all! Happy growing and harvesting (for anyone in that process).

This is the most unique plant, in the notches she has some that have no branches, some with 2 branches, some big and some small. She has a leaf with a rusty coloring to it, amd should probably introduce a cal mag supplement. She has at least began to bush out, but is in desperate need of transplant. I hope after which she will grow vigorously. We've had poor weather cloudy and rain so her transition outside has taken some time. I am hopeful that as soon as she is content she will dazzle me with unseen talents. Happy growing to all and will update after transplant. Thanks Every one for the support and advice.

Hey everyone so the last couple weeks we've had uncommon raining and clouds; not to mention flash flooding; so naturally I waited on her move outside. I slowly began reducing the light hours to keep up with the real sunshine. I cut back on nutrients because I've heard that's good before a transplant. However finally the sun came back today and we had no rain, so she finally got transplanted into her 15 gallon smart pot with happy frog soil. I hope she will make it in the great outdoors without too many bad effects over the next couple weeks while she adjusts. I also topped her the 1 time, and used that top to start a clone and only time will tell if it survives. Happy growing to everyone and thanks for all the love and advice.

She's finally adjusting to being outdoors permanently. The temperature during the day has been warm, between 74-86; the lows have been going between 49-56 degrees F. The Smart Pots have been drying at a much faster pace than I anticipated, however being a fabric pot, the sunshine and warm weather I'm not entirely surprised. Towards the middle of the week I noticed she was having several bottom leaves turning full yellow and basically die off, I'm attributing this to a possible low dose of nitrogen and have increased the dose and will monitor to see if it improves or at least doesn't get worse. The Top I had taken and turned in to a clone is still alive but not looking great, I must have much to learn where cloning is concerned still; but when i top her another 2 times i will also attempt to clone them with better results. Thank you all for the continued support. Happy and Healthy growing to everyone!

Hey all, apologies for the late update. She seems to have recovered from the recent nitrogen deficiency, I started increasing the feeding days now that shes going through so much more and more water as well. I've picked up a CalMag supplement to begin also. Naturally the bugs and other critters are still wanting to be near. I dont think a day goes by that I dont feel spider webs as I walk by. However still no luck in locating them or banishing them entirely. I expect this should be an issue solved before flowering unless I want webby buds. Although we've been having great weather, that means the other plants in the yard are flourishing, like the grapevines and the fruit trees. This is causing a bit less direct sunlight hours than I'd like, so naturally I probably better prune and train those plants to get out of the way also. I think she might only be getting around 5-6 hours of bright sun, I'd like this to be closer to 8-10 hours. The clone experiment from the first top has died. I'll need to try again and fine tune my methods. However overall the strawberry cough seems strong and happy now. My goals over next few weeks is to see if I can increase the light, and keep the bugs at bay. Oh and of coarse just keep her strong and healthy. I hope everyone's grows are going great and thanks so much for the continued support and suggestions. 💚🌱:flag-us:

The previous weeks I started to notice some deficiencies and upped the nutrients by a teaspoon or 2 in each gallon. She responded well to this and was growing nice a strong and healthy. However, this last week I had picked up a calmag supplement and clearly over dosed, fortunately this plant only was minimally toxic. She had some burnt tips and a bit of curling but nothing compared to other projects. I learned not to go giving plants things they may not need and definitely start at half strength on anything new. The temperature here is slowly rising with the on coming summer, days are up in the 80s and nights are getting closer to the 60s. Humidity is still staying around its typical range of 17-30. I topped a few more of her branches, but didnt turn anything into clones. The season has about 3-4 months until harvest time and if it continues to grow upward at the current rate of about 8-10 inches, I will soon need a stepladder. I flushed the plant to hopefully free her of the toxic atmosphere I provided and now can just hope she's going to keep battling on. Naturally bugs and outdoor elements are still difficult, but all I can do is attempt to keep it minimal. Happy Healthy growing to everyone, hope all the grows are going well. Thanks so much for everyones help and guidance. :flag-us:💚🌱

*The S.C was less affected by the calcium overdose as others, but still received a few burnt leaves and curling. However its recovering quickly and all new growth appears strong, healthy and green. *She is keeping up pace of height and brushing out as well as other plants and gets bigger every week. *after the overdose I flushed strongly and have been reintroducing nutrients at a normal level, but eliminating the calmag. She had 2 yellow low leaves and it became apparent she needed more feeding but the usual setup, of nutrients, nothing more. *she was topped 3 additional times and has responded well.

This week she seems to be fully over the calmag overdose, the majority of the leaves are green and healthy, and very happy if the "praying" leaves each morning are any indicator. With her having the couple low leaves that had turned yellow and spotty I tried to make sure she was getting a correct amount of nutrients. I have not seen additional leaf damage. The upward growth was only about 3-4 inches, but that still has her standing at a little over 4 ft. And that doesnt include the pot underneath. A plan to keep her from growing too tall is becoming more essential with every passing week. I'm looking at other grows and getting advice from friends as what best to do. Thanks for all the support and encouragement. Happy and Healthy growing to everyone.

This week was going great, she has had very nice healthy new growth, and growing at about 3-4 inches per week. I topped several more branches in an attempt to round her out, we'll see if it helps at all. Shes been handling the nutrients well, with the exception of the few yellowed bottom leaves she had over the last few weeks, they finally died and pulled off at the slightest touch. Unfortunately, while watering and taking measurements, I began slightly pulling on branches to test if they could be tied down, the outer branches were fine, but once I pulled one of the main 2 branches from her first topping, it quickly split straight down the center! I taped her up good and tight and will watch for any upcoming disasters. Happy Healthy Growing everyone! 💚 Thanks for all the continued advice and support.

This week after her disastrous split down her middle is recovering from the broken limb. She however had a case of the yellowing leaves, which I'm going to attribute to not feeding her enough times throughout the week. Most of her yellowing has stopped and now I just plucked away the useless leaves...or they fell off. She's nearly 60 inches tall, with an additional 18 inches roughly of pot beneath her. She has one baby clone who's doing very good and made lots of roots so far!💚🌱 I need to get more adamant about using the ph tester and have another new one sent in, hopefully between that and better feeding schedule she'll be alright. Happy growing everyone. 💚

Mama Mia! This girl cannot catch a break! First I split her accidentally down the center and she recovered. Now we had very heavy flash flood rain that basically weighed 3 branches down till they were flat(hotizontal) but didn't snap them, woohoo for small favors 👍. I've secured the flattened branches back upright and she appears alright. Built a snap together tomato cage in her pot to help keep the branches upright and supported. Temperatures this week 65 at night up to 103 daytime. Humidity: low low low 8%-15% Yellowing leaves have minimized, so altogether a good and bad week. 😊 I hope everyone's grows are going great, I look forward to the upcoming flowering season for all the outdoor diaries. 💚

This week has gone well, recovered from all recent attacks. She is the greenest, most bushy plant I have going. I believe her vegetative growth is reaching an end, her height is 64 inches. I recently saw parts on the plant that definitely have preflowers everywhere, but some that look very much like she's attempting to flower. So I expect she may gain a few more inches once flowering does officially start. This week the night temps have gotten into the high 50s, but the days are still hot as ever, up towards the high 90s and low 100s. I found an odd bug and think I better turn some lady bugs loose to see if they can help. Happy growing everyone, and thanks for all the continued help.

The strawberry cough has a had a good four months of being in the vegetative stage. She is by far the most bushy of my outdoor setup, and now that she's flowering I can see she'll be needing a but of support as the next weeks roll on and her branches get heavier. The temperatures have been still remaining well in the 90s and higher during the daytime, while dropping down to around 57 at night. The humidity has remained low throughout the whole cycle and currently rests around 8-10%. She's currently standing at about 72 inches tall, but since she began flowering that could go up a little more, but I think for the most part she's about as tall as she will get. The plant has bud sites everywhere, now i just need to evaluate which ones will stay and which ones are just draining her of energy by being so low or not receiving enough sunshine. She's doing well in regards to bugs and possible leaf problems , now the only thing causing her stress would be the heat, dry air and letting her get too dry. Making sure she stays well hydrated is crucial. She's already began to change incredibly with the shift into flowering and I'm sure the next several weeks will be very exciting. Thank you all for the encouragement, guidance and advice over the last many months. I hope everyones prepping for a wonderful flowering and harvest time. Happy growing 💚

Strawberry cough has really taken off with her flowering. Sh was already the most bushy plant I have and now shes slowly being weighted down with little cluster of buds everywhere. I'm torn between defoliating her slightly and not due to the lower hours of direct sunlight and the need for all photosynthetic real estate as possible. I imagine I will remove any damaged leaves and then defoliate a bit further down september. Shes standing strong at 74inches from trunk to tips. Her smell is increasing but only slightly, she still has that incredible fresh green plant smell about her. She's consistently had some leaves with a yellowed/pale bright green color to them, whether its deficiency or chronic under watering I'm not sure. Given how hot and dry it's been for the last several months my thought is the under watering. I am attempting to keep her as well watered as possible through her flowering. Happy September to everyone and I hope everyone is having fun with their plants. 💚

The strawberry cough flowering approximately at week 4/5. Her growth has basically slowed to a stop, I'm not seeing much more vertical growth so it seems its time to just focus on building those buds. The days are definitely getting darker here and quickly. The temperatures are no longer up in the 100s but staying pretty strong into the 85-98 zone for day times. The nights are quickly turning from very nice to down into the 50s every night. I'm starting to need a light sweater. Ive noticed her having regular yellowed leaves that'll eventually whither and shrivel and die, or be plucked easily. I am not sure if this is receiving lower Nitrogen levels or the beginning of the end? However she has leaves to spare so I'm really trying not to fret over it much for fear of causing her more damage than help. Now I'm basically just trying to keep a close eye and see that she's well watered and has support where she needs it...i don't want her to do the splits anymore than she has. I hope everyone's grows are going good, i saw some people starting the last of their season; and happy harvest to others. 💚🌱☀️

Strawberry Cough week 5/6 The strawberry cough has been my oddball plant from the begining. Her leaf patterns, node placement, etc were always a bit strange compared to other plants. Now being into flowering this has stayed the same. Her bud placement is atypical but they seem to at least be healthy. Shes become the bushiest plant, and her branches are wanting to fall out and down due to slowly increasing weight, and probably the desire to reach every bit of sun they can. Since having to strap her branches up, that's caused an extreme pile up of leaves all near her center. I've trimmed away some leaves as to not block all the bud sites with a bunched up canopy. I'm thinking she will go strong until the end of the season, so at least to October. So the goals are just to not F anything up on a grand scale. I'm thinking i may end up beginning to add some black strap molasses to the watering and see if that has any effect in helping her bulk up. Happy growing and harvesting everyone. Cheers to the fall season.

Strawberry Cough week 6/7 of flowering. Temps staying into the 80s during daytime and down to the 50s at night. Spent the last week deconstructing her cage and rebuilding a little more suitable setup with the tomato cage and bamboo stakes to hold up her heaviest tallest branches. Defoliated a bit more in the center where its blocking light to the budsites. Now...we wait...and wait..and wait, until probably October. 😁 Thanks for the support everyone. Happy harvest.

This week has gone alright for the Strawberry Cough. I've began lowering her nutrients slowly, and only giving her bloom or micro bottled nutrients. I've also began to add a teaspoon/gallon of molasses once or twice per week. She has an excessive buildup of leaves right at her upper middle that i was afraid to cut away for fear she couldn't perform as well without all that photosynthetic real estate. However its became more apparent how important it is for me to get some of it outta there. She's continuing to grow well, and has slowly gotten more trichromes and a growing aroma. The goals this week are to defoliate where possible and keep her branches upwards. I'm expecting her to be ready for harvest, here in the next week or two. The temperatures have been fairly consistent, between 80s during the day and down to 50s at night.

Hey everyone so the Strawberry Cough is really coming along. The last couple weeks she has especially gotten heavier and more sparkly. I'm regularly having to check her to make sure she is tied up well so her branches don't bend and snap. We're really moving full swing into fall around here, colder days and nights, trees changing colors...the usual. I was hoping all of my plants would get to experience a fair bit of colder weather to help bring out their colors. However, harvest time may come faster than i expect. Stand by for confirmation, but i think It'll come in this up coming week, or very short there after. Happy Growing to everyone. And happy fall and almost October. ✌️💚🌱

Hey everyone so this Strawberry Cough is on her last week. The cold has come, there's snow on the peak of the mountain, and her trichromes are looking in a good zone. I had been aiming for at least all milky or a little amber mixed in as im trying to avoid any anxious, panic feelings that may typically come with the glassy clear trichromes. This grow has been so exciting, i had no idea how much hard work went into growing cannabis, this being my first set of plants done start to finish on my own. I should have defoliated much more as this plant was a bit unusual, even from the beginning she had odd traits. But one things for sure, she has was too many leaves popping out of everywhere. Happy growing and harvesting to everyone.

Im preparing for the curing process, Does anyone know how long you should do this for? Are there different results for doing it longer or shorter? Anyone got any cool tricks up their sleeves or things that worked well? Thanks for the help. ✌️

After the buds have dried (crispy outside and the smallest stems snap) fill your airtight container(s) 3/4 full. Week 1 open each container for 5 min each day. Week 2 open each container every 3 days for 2 minutes. Enjoy your smoke and add bovada packs if desired (don’t do this before week 3 since the idea is to move moisture from the inside to the outside of the buds) and continue opening once a week for 5 minutes. The flavors, smoothness and aroma will continue to improve for 3-6 months. For storage beyond 6 months buds should be kept frozen.

This year was my first set of plants ever! So naturally I only had knowledge from books etc...no experience or past mistakes. I learned a lot this year, both from things going right and so many things gone wrong. I managed to overdose my plants with a calmag supplement, snap branches when i didn't mean to, let the plants stretch from lack of sunlight, but still manage to come out with decent buds in the end. The strawberry cough had been an especially odd ball plant from the start so i learned to just roll with the punches with her. I was able to successfully clone her many times just experimenting. She did very well against low temperatures and high, as well as drastically low humidity. I did manage to somehow attract a number of bugs which i couldn't fully banish, so i tried to rely more on the beneficial insects in my yard and buying ladybugs. The most important thing I took away from this grow was to plan out your next moves well in advance. Not days in advance but weeks in advance because anything can change or go wrong and I wanna be prepared for it if it does. *Time not spent planning, is time wasted. Also to defoliated on time, clean up the bottom of my plants of small leaves small buds anything that is taking away energy, and get the big water leaves out of there before harvest time. Big thanks to everyone @growdiaries for all the help, all the Twinkies and WolfPack and GOTM's. ✌️ *one last thing, I'm in the northern hemisphere, and @Dutchpassion showed this strain having a 9 week flowering period, although i was growing outdoors their estimated time was fairly accurate. It was enjoyable to see that it was only off by about 1-2 weeks from the projected 9 weeks.
