meneerGreen 2-1 Today I picked up my foster daughter from a friend of mine; he had germinated 5 seeds but can only fit 4 in his grow space. Since they all germinated and started growing, I got one, of course the smallest, because you want somewhat uniform plants to start with. For me, it doesn't matter, because she will only be in the tent, and who knows, she might end up being the prettiest of them all. I've experienced before that the least impressive one turned out to be the best. I immediately put the lady under the T5 (2 x 24 watt 6400K) at 2 cm from the light source; the lux meter reads 20000 lux at that height. Photos tomorrow. The light schedule is 18/6. 3-1 I put the lady in a slightly larger pot today and gave her some water. She needs to bridge a week because I'm waiting for my lamp, which will probably arrive this week. The temperature in my grow cabinet is around 26 to 27 degrees, and the humidity is about 50%, which I find fine. 4-1 Today I set up the tent and got it ready; just need to make a SCROG net and then patiently wait for the lamp to arrive. I chose the Spider Farmer SF1000. Temperature is 27 during the day and 22 at night (light on, light off), humidity is 58 to 46% (highest, lowest). 5-1 Watering: 80 ml, temperature 26.7 to 23 (light on, light off), humidity 55 to 43% (highest, lowest). Height to lamp is 2 cm; the lady is now 9 cm tall. 6-1 Watering: 0.1 liters, temperature 27.6 to 23 (light on, light off), humidity 53 to 43% (highest, lowest). I received the lamp tonight, so tomorrow I'll hang it in the tent and finalize everything. 7-1 Watering: 0.1 liters, temperature 27 to 22 (light on, light off), humidity 53 to 44% (highest, lowest). The lady is now 12 cm tall, and the lux meter reads 20000 lux.

meneerGreen Week 2 (1/8 to 1/14) Watering: None. Temperature: 27.5 to 22 (lights on, lights off) RH 67 to 54% (highest, lowest). EC: 0.4 pH: 6.1 1/8, Today moved to the tent, prepared the soil yesterday and let it warm up a bit, the soil is in the shed so it was quite cold, didn’t want to do that to the lady. I hung the lamp at 20 cm height and it's set to 50% of its capacity, the lux meter shows 35000 lux and that's fine for the start, the lady is now 13 cm tall. 1/11, lamp height 22 cm, lux 35000, plant height 15 cm. 1/13, lamp height 22 cm, lux 35000, plant height 19 cm, the fan broke down and I replaced it with a new one, I always keep a few in stock for situations like this, it is a bit smaller, was 20 cm and now 15 cm but for that little tent it's big enough, the lady is still swaying nicely back and forth so it's all good. 1/14, today topped the lady.

EC: 0.4 pH: 5.8 15-1, still having some issues with overfeeding, I’m going to do the next grow differently. Plant is now 19 cm tall, light is at 20 cm, lux meter shows 38000 lux. 17-1, trimmed the lower shoots, plant is 21 cm tall, light is at 19 cm, lux meter shows 40000 lux. 18-1, raised the light a bit to 23 cm, lux meter now shows 36000 lux, plant is 21 cm tall. 20-1, light is at 20 cm, lux meter shows 40000 lux, plant is 24 cm tall. 21-1, today added fulvic and humic acid to the water, a little nutrient on 8 liters of water EC 0.4, pH 5.8, lowered the pH a bit, it was 6.4 which I found a bit too high at this stage. Light is at 25 cm, plant height 26 cm, lux meter shows 35000 lux, I have the dimmer on the light set to 60%. I also have a bit of a leaf problem, not exactly sure what it is but I suspect it’s either related to overfeeding or too high pH, which I have now adjusted, and in combination with fulvic and humic acid, I hope to have solved the issue, so just waiting to see. Also set up the SCROG net today.

EC: 1.6 pH: 6.1 25-1, added humic and fulvic acid (a pinch in 10 liters of water) and Cal-mag (1 ml in 1 liter of water). 27-1, The Strawberry is getting powder feeding and I started that today, 0.5 grams in 0.9 liters which gives an EC of 1.6, I adjusted the pH to 6.1, and I also added some Cal-mag, humic acid, and fulvic acid. 28-1, the plant is now 30 cm tall, the light is hanging at 20 cm (80% of its power) the lux meter shows 55000 lux. Also tied down the first shoots and pruned some leaves. P.s. I can't choose grams for the nutrients so I can't fill that in, but you can read it here in the report.

meneerGreen Week 5 (29-1 to 4-2) Watering: 2 x none, 1 x 1 liter, 2 x 0.5 liter, 1 x 0.7 liter, 1 x 0.8 liter. Temperature: 24.5 to 21 (light on, light off) RH 56 to 47% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.5 pH: 6.3 29-1 topped for the 2nd time. 30-1 received fulvic and humic acid one more time + 3.2 grams of powder feeding (long flowering) EC 1.2, pH 6.0 31-1 slightly increased powder feeding to EC 1.5, pH 6.3; for the next bucket of nutrients I'm going to write down the exact ratio, the bucket I added nutrients to was already somewhat acidic. Further this week removed some leaves and also pushed some leaves under the rack, want to keep as much leaf volume as possible, but with this strain it's not easy, it has quite a bit of leaf growth, meaning big and wide leaves, which I'm not used to from an almost entirely Sativa (80%). The plant is now 31 cm, it's also being SCROG'd so there won't be much (at least for now) change. The light is hanging 25 cm from the top of the plant and the lux meter shows 68000 lux, the light is at 100% and that's 100 watts.

meneerGreen Week 6 (5-2 to 11-2) first week 12/12. Watering: 0.8 liters Temperature: 26 to 22 (lights on, lights off) RH 62 to 45% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.5 pH: 6.3 to 6.5 This week I regularly secured some shoots and removed a bit of leaf, although that's minimal, because initially, I bend the leaf under the rack and if it's not needed anymore, I remove it. On 7-2, I set the timer to 12/12. On 9-2 and 11-2, they only received deacidified water because I noticed some light spots starting on my leaves, so I also adjusted the nutrients to have a lower EC. I also reviewed the powder feeding again; following their schedule gives 0.7 grams of powder feeding an EC of 1.1, but for me, 1 gram gives an EC of 2.0 to 2.1. My tap water is 0.4 to 0.5, and I’m not sure if I should factor that in, so I’ll check with the supplier. Also, with this nutrient, I don’t need to check the pH, but I will do that at the beginning; they assume a pH (after adding the nutrients) of 5.8 to 6.8, which is correct, as mine was 6.5 without deacidifying first. They also mention only powder feeding while the nutrient schedule also lists PK and Calcium as additives, so I’ll inquire about that with the supplier as well. The lamp is now 27 cm above the plant, and the lux meter shows 61000 Lux; the lamp is at 100%, which is 100 watts, and that will remain so. If anything changes, I’ll report that.

meneerGreen Week 7 (12-2 to 18-2) second week 12/12. Watering: 0.8 liters Temperature: 26 to 21 (lights on, lights off) RH 61 to 46% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.6 pH: 6.1 This week I worked a bit with the Powder Feeding nutrients to get things right. I mentioned last week that I need to figure out if I should account for the EC of the tap water, and it turns out I do. So in this case, their schedule is pretty accurate. If I don’t adjust the pH, with the addition of the nutrients + Cal-mag, I end up with an EC of 2.0 to 2.1. If I subtract the EC of the tap water, I have an EC of 1.6, which is exactly according to the Powder Feeding schedule. The pH is then 6.5, which I adjust down to 6.1 to 6.2. I prepare it daily to get a good impression of these nutrients. I still need to clarify a few things. Their schedule states that Calcium and PK+ should be added. I’ll ask how that works because they say it’s a complete nutrient from start to finish. Otherwise, I want to know what they mean, so do they mean PK 13/14 or another ratio, and when they say Calcium, do they mean just Calcium or do they mean Cal-mag? Also this week, I’ve tied down quite a few shoots and removed a lot of leaves because what I notice with this strain is that it has an awful lot of leaves. Besides removing a lot of leaves, I’ve also bent some of the leaves down under the rack to get the tops as much sunlight as possible, and it still doesn’t really show that I’ve removed so many leaves. This week, visible flowering in the ladies, so I’ll start counting the flowering weeks beginning next week.

meneerGreen Week 8 (Feb 19 - Feb 25) week 1 flowering. Watering: 5 liters Temperature: 25 to 21 (lights on, lights off) RH 60 to 49% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.7 pH: 6.0 Feb 19, just checking what gives the best results in terms of nutrient additions. Today I reached an EC of 2.0, I'm getting my PK fertilizer tomorrow and then I'll see exactly how and what I need to add according to the schedule. I'll prepare 1 liter with the prescribed amount and then check how the EC and pH are. Feb 20, today I prepared 1 liter of nutrients with the nutrient and PK amounts, and it came out to an EC of 1.7 (1.6 according to the schedule). The pH isn't mentioned, I'll measure that tomorrow because I'm going to prepare a 10-liter bucket. Feb 21, prepared 10 liters of water, with the recommended amount according to the schedule, came out to an EC of 1.7 and a pH of 6.0. So that's nutrients (long flowering) and PK boost, pretty great values and that without adding pH-. By the way, the tap water here is 0.4. The lamp is currently hanging at 28 cm and the lux meter shows 60000, so that's pretty good if I say so myself.

EC: 1.6 pH: 6.2 Added this week, 7 grams long flowering and 2 grams PK booster in 10 liters of water, also a tiny bit of pH- to keep the pH around 6. Nutrients added according to the powder feeding schedule and it matches nicely with what they provide. I have the lamp hanging at 27 cm at full power (100 watts) and the lux meter shows 65000 lux, measured directly under the lamp. Also this week, I removed some leaves; this strain produces a lot of leaves in my opinion, so you can't avoid that, and if you look at the photos, it doesn't even stand out.

They received nutrients for 2 days this week and 5 days of pH'd water, saw some burnt tips probably from overfeeding, which could very well be the case, so I took it easy with the nutrients this week. I did remove some leaves here and there, but it’s hardly noticeable. The lamp is hanging at 27 cm and the lux meter reads 63000. meneerGreen Week 11 (12-3 to 18-3) week 4 of flowering. Watering: 6.4 liters. Temperature: 23 to 19 (lights on, lights off) RH 65 to 56% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.3 pH: 6.2 This week I gave a bit less nutrients, she is quite dark in color, and over the last few days I noticed that the top was getting a bit lighter in color. At first, I thought it was a nutrient issue, but one day later it was much more pronounced. I started looking for deficiencies, and it turns out to be a potassium or Calmag issue, so I added a bit more PK and some Calmag, and reduced the nutrients a bit to see what that does. I’ll try this for a week. She still has about 4 to 5 weeks to go, so I hope to get the problem under control. I’m also going to remove some leaves because there are still quite a few small buds under the leaves, and I want to try to get the best out of her. We'll wait and see.

EC: 1.3 pH: 6.3 This week I removed some extra leaves to give the lower buds a bit more light. I wasn't planning on it at first, but I decided to go for it; after all, you want to get the most out of your lady. Still about 3 weeks to go, so I think it's worth it. Other than that, not much has changed. The problems, in my opinion, haven't changed much (read: worsened). I'm using this nutrient for the first time this round, as I mentioned before, so it's like reinventing the wheel, so to speak. It should improve in the next rounds as I get a better understanding of the nutrients; that's what I'm counting on, at least.

meneerGreen Week 13 (26-3 to 1-4) week 6 flowering. Watering: 6.8 liters Temperature: 23.7 at 20 (lights on, lights off) RH 64 to 53% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.1 pH: 6.1 Total added this week, 1.05 grams L.F., 1 gram PK, 1 ml Calmag in 5 liters of water. For clarity, I prepared 1 bucket of nutrients from 5 liters with 1.05 grams L.F., 1 gram PK, and 1 ml Calmag, they got this for 6 days and 1 time with pH'd water, 1 of the 6 days they got leftover nutrients before I made a new bucket with a slightly different ratio. I've been thinking again about the problem I'm facing at the moment, I think it might also be due to the light, so too much light at too short a distance from the plant, it's just a thought but I raised the lamp from 25 cm to 37 cm, the lux meter then shows around 50000 lux, not overly much but you have to do something. On 1-4 I set the lamp to 80% to see if that has a positive effect, although I think I won't be able to notice that in the short term (the damage the lady has now won't recover) partly because they should still have about 3 weeks but whether they can manage that is still in question, I’m afraid it will be closer to 8 weeks of flowering than 9 weeks. I also stuck the fertometer in the pot and for that occasion gave a bit more water, normally she got about 1 liter per day, now I threw in 2 for better conductivity, the fertometer showed (after half an hour) green, so she’s not overfed, hence the thought that it might be the light.

meneerGreen I harvested on the 14th and I wasn't actually disappointed. I still need to calculate exactly how many watts I used because I didn't have the lamp at 100% for the entire grow. The wet weight of the buds is 479 grams and the trim waste and fluffy stuff is 80 grams, so a total weight of 559 grams. In the meantime, I calculated the average watts used by the lamp. I did it like this: 5 weeks at 50 watts, rounded up, assuming they had that for the first 2 weeks at my friend's place, 1 week at 60 watts, 3 weeks at 80 watts, and 6 weeks at 100 watts, totaling 15 weeks. I multiplied the days by the wattage of the lamp, then added everything up and divided by the total number of grow days, which in my case is 105 days, and I come out to an average of 77 watts for the grow, so let's say 80 watts rounded. Once it's dry, I can calculate how many grams I got per watt. It probably won't be as much as with the bucket, but we'll see, so just a bit more patience. 19-4, The dry weight is known: buds 113 grams, trim waste and fluffy stuff 21 grams. That means just for the buds it's over 1.4 grams per watt (1.4125), and if you calculate the total yield, it's almost 1.7 grams per watt, 1.675 to be exact. The moisture percentage was 59% after 24 hours (it was 58% after 12 hours) for both the buds and the trim waste and fluffy stuff, so it won't go up much further than that. For this grow, I actually had everything new: tent, lamp, and nutrients, so it's a bit of a learning curve with the lamp and the nutrients. In the next round, we'll see if it goes better (or not πŸ˜‰). I'm not entirely dissatisfied with this round, but there's always room for improvement πŸ˜πŸ‘.
