I’m growing two Wedding Cheesecake autos from Fastbuds. Both in 1 gal pots. A double wedding.
UPDATE: One seed popped. The other didn’t do a thing. I’m not having as much success with the direct-to-substrate method as when I first did it. I’ve replanted with my last Wedding Cheesecake seed. Time to buy some more. I’m also covering my soil now while the seedlings is popping. I don’t want them to be drying out too quickly.
The third Wedding Cheesecake seed didn’t pop either. 1 out of 3. Not sure why. So I’ve renamed the diary Shotgun Wedding. The one remaining seedlings is doing nicely. Second true leaf nodes are just growing.
This lone Wedding Cheesecake is growing well. I gave it some weak veg nutes mix early in the week. She showed a bit of leaf curl immediately. Bit too early. I’ll ease it in this week to feeding though.
After a bit of cleaning up the Wedding Cheesecake is now in the middle of the flowering tent. She is looking good. The big girl in the tent now. Starting to get a bit of stretch on. I’ve started really seriously training her into the scrog net. Apparently this strain loves to be trained. I’m going to be very careful feeding after this weeks debacle (see Lemon Grass). Buds are still really formative. Not even cotton buds yet.
The Wedding Cheesecake has really taken off this week. Covered in white cotton buds. I have been tieing it down and trying not to let it overtake the space. It should be hitting the 6 week stretch soon. No more room I’ll have to let it grow upwards now. Maybe a bit of super cropping as she stretches if needed.
I’m being really careful about the feeding now. Feeding every second watering and halving the dosage. The plants in the tent are loving it. I’ve been impatiently overfeeding grows, hoping for abundance. But after the last two grows didn’t go well (lost maybe 4oz) I am really, really waiting for this one.
Not too much vertical growth this week. The smaller 1 gal pot definitely restricts the growth. This is what I want. Lots of small plants. Not too much height. Her buds are everywhere and slowly starting to grow. No crystals yet though. This strain is meant to be covered in them so I’m looking to see significant trichome development this week.
I’ve given her one good feed of flowering nutes this week but I will increase it as much as I dare in the coming week. I’ve made feeding mistakes before, but in bigger pots. I’m more confident in the smaller pots. That should be the other advantage. Easier to correct mistakes. Smaller feeds each time. Faster to dry out. Mistakes are more localised.
I took the plant down too early. Before it reached 9 weeks. Still wanting to build up a supply. Despite the early harvest the buds were sweet and strong. The plant was compact and packed! I gota good amount for the space as well. Good stealth plant. I’ll grow this one again.
I’m running out of time to update so many diaries. The perpetual grow pattern doesn’t work with separate diaries like this. So I’m rethinking how I do it and adding some new tech to the tent to help. I’ll post all the harvests on existing diaries and get back with adding new diaries soon.
