Decided to take her outside the greenhouse, instant reach for the sky. Plant was 100% horizontal before, just 2 hours out and she’s already going for new highs. #punintended

Looks like she's enjoying that sun now!

Wonderful! Sometimes there is stunted/neutral growth in the hoop house here. I think it’s more related to fresh air and cooler temps than direct sunlight. I’m not asking for an address - just your latitude please. Helps understand the outdoor grow I’m at 39o N, just to be fair.

@growdoctordc, I'm gonna speculate myself. I think bubblewrap and greenhouse work because you're already in a greenhouse. While in the pool, the bubblewrap makes the volume of water into a greenhouse and traps the heat with a layer of isolation on top. I don't think stacking the bubblewrap with extra layers (2,3,4,5,6,7 ...) will increase the temperature significantly. Another alternative I've just heard is to cover the top with some white linnen, but linnen is organic so mold might be an issue. You could overcome that by taking it off every night though.

@goarilla, bubble wrap sounds counter intuitive, like it would for sure heat up the interior. When you bubble wrap the surface of a swimming pool, the water gets much warmer. You sure about this? I get the chalk powder as it acts like sunscreen. And I actually have enough bubble to wrap the house. If it was truly one way maybe, but pool covers work regardless which side is up, and we use them when it’s cold. Thanks for the suggestion. I love the discussion. We’re all here to learn more and advance our favorite crop’s science.

@growdoctordc, you have to manage the heat that gets trapped and the lower the greenhouse the smaller the volume of air the worst it gets. Paint your greenhouse/tent with chalk powder and/or cover the roof with bubblewrap to decrease the incoming radiation. Open the doors/punch some hole in the sides to increase air ventilation. You can also add objects in front of the Southside of the greenhouse/tent ... or in front of the pots/garden trays to create artificial shadows.
