Pedrojuan I started germination with a temperature of 24º and humidity levels of 65 to 75%, using a mini greenhouse with Plagron product and peat plugs. If all goes well, when they reach at least 5 cm, they'll be moved to hydroponics RDWC. On the 3rd day of germination, they already popped out of the peat disc, with roots extending 1 cm outside. I decided to transfer them to RDWC with the solution 1 cm above the clay level, which will help the roots develop through capillarity. I'm happy.

Pedrojuan This week I will still keep the LEDs on for 24 hours a day, I will keep the EC at 2.5, and I will try to improve the pH, I still have it at around 6.3. The little plants are growing well, you can already see the tips of the roots coming out of the substrate and touching the water. By next weekend, I will change the nutrient solution and lower the water level. I also decided to set up a homemade CO2 generator (a bucket with water, yeast, sugar, and tomato pulp) on the advice of my friends from Zamnesia. We'll keep updating throughout the week.

Pedrojuan Well, we started the week with a nutrient solution change, keeping the level 5 cm below the clay to have air between the roots, substrate, and nutrient solution. They look bigger and prettier, we'll see how it goes this week. Today I checked the roots and they look really good. Since yesterday, something changed for the worse...😩

Hola a todos, a ver si me pueden ayudar, creo que algo va mal con mis plantitas, el color está bien, pero se ven caídas y el algo en las raíces pareciera que está cambiando. Subo un par de fotos para que comparen y me digan que está pasando. 😩

Hey man do not fear I have quite alot experience with DWC systems and this is nothing out the ordinary. The colour of roots is harldy less alarming as how it looks in fact you will find most roots will colour and turn that colour over time anyway they will go from bright white to a more browny colour and this is compleatly normal. Now Its not root rot either you are very unlikly to get root rot in a dwc or RDWC system there is simply too much air and movement in the buckets that prevents any nasties from hanging around. Best thing to do is nothing just keep and eye on the plant and by the look of the root system i think you would benefit from a small donut humidifier to be placed in each pot this will turn the top half of your buckets into a nutrient mix which will inturn encourage alot more side root growth and in turn a much larger root system :) also more air never hurt anyone either more oxygen the better in the water more surface activity the better :) Hope this helps bro and happy cultivating :)

Pedrojuan At the beginning of this 3rd week of vegetation, it seems that the situation is improving, thanks to the people who advised me well, so I wouldn't panic... they were probably stressed and it already happened to them...😂😂😂 anyway, this week I'm raising the EC to 0.6, distance from the lights to 1.2 m, and we'll see how it goes. I'm looking forward to trying an APICAL CUT with this crop and seeing what benefits it brings me; if anyone reads this and wants to advise me on when and how to do it, I'm all ears.

Hey friends, I want to try doing an apical cut and a low pruning. The idea is to make the apical cut 7 days before switching to flowering and the low pruning 3 days after switching to flowering. Is it right to do it this way or should I use another tactic? Thanks in advance.

Hola Pedro, I would recommend a longer time between topping and defoliation. 1 week to recover to me is a bit short, I'd wait about 10 days until she's completely recovered. I would do the lower defoliation and the topping at the same time. In my experiemce it's better to do one big HST training instead of many little. So in your case, topping defoliation now, wait until she's back in track and change light cycle. I give my ladies one final, big defoliation in week 3 of bloom. Rest of the run i do just minor work on trainings. Good luck and happy trails for the rest of the way, Servus✌️. OimRausch

Pedrojuan Well, this week I'm raising the EC to about 0.8. I tried doing an apical cut (I don't know if I did it right 😟) and some defoliation; if all goes well, we'll move to flowering next time. Let's hope they withstand my tortures, poor things! 🙏 This week went well, they handled the cuts and recovered nicely, a lot of plant smell... 🌲🌲🌲🌲👌

Pedrojuan Well, at the beginning of the flowering phase, we changed the nutrient solution with ml x ltr, I set up the scrog net and I've noticed that this strain gets stressed easily, after the water and nutrient change and the net they were full stress, poor things... They start the photoperiod with a strong vegetal smell and this makes me fear that the future buds will have a lot of smell... let's hope we have luck with this grow too. I'm very happy, I didn't think that thanks to ZOE SPACECAKE I would become so passionate about growing cannabis.

Pedrojuan Well, the week starts with few changes in the arrangement of things, you can see the face of the flowering… one is growing and developing more than the other, it seems that the one on the left always inspires more… we will keep the solution at 1.2 EC and the pH always at 5.9. For the rest, everything is the same, I will leave the activated carbon filter for the last 4 weeks. Let's hope there isn't too much smell for now. I will update with news in a couple of days.

Pedrojuan A new week begins, I raised the EC to 1.4, the pH is about 5.8. Everything is going well, the smells are under control, we'll see how it goes. Maybe next week I'll add a dehumidifier to keep the humidity in check during the last weeks.

Pedrojuan The week is going well, not many changes, I've noticed they've grown a lot. This week will be the peak for nutrients before I start to lower them. They're consuming more water than nutrients, the EC has been stable for 3 days, but they're consuming almost 8 liters in 3 days.

Pedrojuan This week they are growing a lot, you can start to see the trichomes and the development of the buds. The temperatures are a bit high and there are still at least 2 more weeks to go... I had to put in a dehumidifier to lower the humidity which was over 70%, that makes them consume more water than usual. Let's hope everything continues to go well.

Pedrojuan We started with the last weeks, yesterday I did 24 hours of florakleen and today with the solution change only ripen x 2 weeks, the smells are already starting to be felt. They are growing well, the only thing that worries me is the high temperatures and humidity, since using a dehumidifier increases the ambient temperature even more. I hope everything continues to go well.

Pedrojuan I think this is the last week, after 2 more days with Florakleen to lower the excess nutrient levels, after this the color of the trichomes just starts to change, we'll harvest. Watching the trichomes for about 6 more days and then it's done. In 3 or 4 days I’ll change the solution and leave them for 48 hours with Florakleen and then I’ll harvest.

Pedrojuan This week will be very short, just 48 hours with the florakleen and then I'll harvest the trichomes, they look ready. I hope in these 2 days they don't go over, that way I'll have some really potent buds. We'll see how much it yields wet and dry.

Grow Questions

Pedrojuanstarted grow question 5y ago
What happens if during flowering, just a few days before the harvest, the light time is reduced, for example, to 8 hours of light and 16 hours of darkness? Does it speed up the maturation of the trichomes?

Organomananswered grow question 5y ago
You can go to 11/13 (11 hours lights on, 13 hours lights off) to accelerate maturation, but any less than 11 hours of light will not be enough light for a correctly functioning metabolism and will delay maturation considerably. 11/13 is a good schedule to use when it comes to finishing flowering with Sativas, as it slows the plant from constant re-flowering and negates its stubbornness to finish maturing. Hope this helps, Organoman.

De momento puedo decir que crecen muy bien, el único problema fue que una planta superó a la otra en tamaño e hizo que la otra no crezca bien y debí descartar sus cogollos. De los efectos podré hablar después del secado.

Pedrojuan The production was from only one plant, the other was invaded by the one on the left which took away light space and didn't grow well, it produced very small buds that I discarded. 153g dry😕 I was expecting more.
