Hey there hillside. The metabolism of the plant is regulated by VPD which is the relationship between temperature and humidity . That means that if this ratio is way off the metabolism of the plant will come to a screeching halt. That’s sometimes okay for plants of a certain age, especially if it doesn’t last much longer than a day or two. At a young age plants will deal with it much worse. Any freezing temperatures will kill off a seedling pretty quickly, cold temperature will slow it down , potentially stunting its long term growth also. There’s a bunch that you can do , for example indoors just add a space heater , outdoors you can add insulation to the ground or the pots using cloth , like wrap a few sheets or t shirts around it , maybe use a plastic cover on the ground to raise the temperature locally. Either that or build a green house. Unfortunately you can expect this not to be a pretty serious problem if it’s long term. Hope this helps ! 🚀
