Most Breeding Companies give you Seeds to grow, and to enter the COntest.
Or they give you the Chance to enter a COntest with their Genetics, without naming an explicid Strain..............so lets see๐

Yes they sure are I am new to grow diaries and I have paid for every single seed I have. It would be nice to get some freebies every once in a while well anyways I am going to buy this strain and enter in a couple of weeks from now and let's see whos game.

@Chow_13, I've got it under intense light so it stays short. According to Seedsman, it's going to have a big stretch when it's flipped and i need to manage space in my 4'x8' to fit it, 4 Sour Tangie Dawg from SSSC's contest, GDP clone to finally to a sample test and see if i want it as a mother plant, and the White Widow that is already in it and won't be finished for another 6 weeks at the earliest.

@PiusWaxis, yeah, but some companies were doing limited presales for subscribers or ex customers, mostly 200-300-500 limited seed editions.
So if here they will get 100 growers, some will buy pack of 3 or 5, so 200 seeds easy sale, plus a chance for more ... why not, i liked the idea honestly ...

@AsNoriu, it may be so, but it is true that they are trying to do something that does not easily push a grower to buy ... one there are many sponsors giving seeds to participate in their contests (maybe we are spoiled), two, personally (I think many do it) I choose what to grow if I have to spend money, and I don't spend money with the hope that maybe I will have a good result, the seed is new, there is no way to compare one's own results with others, not even to have a initial idea of โโhow to treat the plant.
in conclusion it is a competition for a few daredevils.

Seedsman are an amazing company who take their time to sponsor alot of growers and host alot of contests! Like their not only on grow diaries, it's best to check their newsletter! Because I won 15 seeds the other day including bubba cheesecake ๐
Imagine your a company! How do you promote your new strain! Some needs to get off that "I need free" scheme of things because it should be your passion that drives you not what you can squeeze! @BB_UK, How do you promote a new strain? The same way they do all the previous ones, not like this.
If they at least offered a discount for this specific strain, then they would definitely get a better turnout than what there will be.
There are several ways to better this contest without giving the people who sign up free seeds, they just chose the easy route, and will definitely see the result of their poor decision in less than 180 days.

@Bostongirlgrows, serious?? Seedsman donโt have genetics! They buy bulk seeds and repackage them as whatever they call it. They donโt have any mothers, they are a warehouse for others. I bought from them once. No show, and no reship which I paid for until I give them a one star trust pilot review, then they finally wanted to listen. No track (international). No stealth ( a clear pencil case!!) shit germ rate. And the bank statement is from some dodgy hong kong based feng Chun or whatever dip shits they are. Since seedsman strengthened ties with GD, the contests have gone backwards. Seedsman is everything shit with the breeding industry. In it only for the money. Wish they would go away and have more comps with legit breeders

So if i cough up the ~$50 CAD to purchase seeds and shipping, when are you going to decide the contest isnโt worth your time? Whatโs the minimum amount of participants? If iโm the only one who enters will I take first place, or will you shut the contest down due lack of interest after I order specifically for this contest? Just curious as the strain is enticing and I have no issue crawling off my wallet to try something new, but if the contest goes tits up, especially after going out of my way to make a purchase, I may be slightly upset. That being said I certainly am not looking for a handout, but know the comment section may sour this contest before it gets started

@Tubington9, I have been informed that at least one contest didn't go ahead as it should. But I don't think seedsman would do that. I would buy and grow it myself as it sounds a good strain but I'm not going to manage to squeeze it in a grow.

Interesting... less time and money invested from other Seedsman hosted contests for a prize pack that's of similar nature but the odds may ever be in your favour for this contest should you decide to participate in it.
I feel if they held applications for getting sponsored 3 of the beans to participate or just messaged users they want to be in this contest and say have some seeds they would get amazing turnout. I know a handful of experienced growers who talked highly of there products.
This will be a great way to measure there influence on this site and how many if any will purchase a new stain for this contest. I could see users lying and saying its Bubba Cheesecake and its not. I hope they cross reference order numbers and contestants to prevent that from happening.

The one review was posted a few days ago [Oct 16th 22'] saying "they all germinated", no notes on taste,smell,growth exct.
I like the cheesy goodness in the lineage though, I've always had good fun growing cheese varieties.

Second and third didnt met requirements, so should be out.
Even if only one participant would left with the diary that satisfying all your rules, thats the only winner would be.
Now yours actions are sad, not first time btw.

This event and few idiots totally killed my motivation to earn money for page, which dont care.
Seedsman was only company since i joined GD which got my cash. After this event i will never buy, promote or say even neutral words about them.

I competed with Ernst in other event, we talked about prizes and stuff, even in this event we talked before all unfair things were finalised.
And as you see , this platform has trolls, as any other, just its strange when @Growdiaries allows insults and bullying...
Whats next, some N words, dicks attached to persons avatars ... oh wait, that happened here already ...
Sad, could be monitored way better .

I am calm as f@ck ;) but it was sevond event where he portraited me in dark, while in reality i am bright, got annoyed ;)
My girl is best from 3 in my grow( despite me betting more on AMS ) , in my tent - she is a winner ;)
Here anyone can win, plus i can push her for 7 days longer then event, later i fly home for a month.
Still havent made my mind, will decide on last day, so maybe i wont qualify ...

Interested in seeing winners for this one. Multiple people didn't even reach harvest and are not qualified to be winners because the rules state "completed diary", also it states "5 photos per weekly update" and some of the contestants didn't fallow that rule for harvest week. My guess on top 5 diaries out of the ones that actually finished are ernest_twwg, Zurban_Poisonia, RastaMouse,
GYOweed, and NavyGi, also that is not in any order.
