Strange growth on bud tops

Spenny4200
Spenny4200started grow question 4 years ago
This plant is taking a lot longer than it's supposed to to mature and now it's throwing strange tops on the bud. It has a pretty bad cal mag deficiency, is this why the buds won't finish and are doing weird things?

Looks like you have foxtail on those buds this occur when light is too intense or and temperatures are too high they start to grow more Buzz over the bonds that are called foxtail it does not harm the plant in any way just that it can be a little tricky to get ready for Harvest ignore the new growth and focus in the older growth try to look at the trichomes and harvest according to those telling sign the new growth will always show no maturity but the older growth will show you how truly ready your plant is to harvest and yes a calcium magnesium deficiency will cause or source of problems because they require that specific nutrient to fight Heat and extreme light. Hope this information helps you out have a happy grow

Hi no worries buddy :-) at the end there can always be new knobs :-) Hey :-) Look with a microscope 👌If the trichome heads are about 70% milky and 30% clear, you can start with the flush. If the trichomes are about 70% milky and 30% amber, it is a very good time to harvest 👍🙏🏻 but do not pay attention to the leaves of the trichomes on the buds 👍

I have read about some strains doing this. One reason was not harvesting I guess the flowers will keep creating. Another main reason of getting buds out of other buds is stress and Heat maybe check into that

foxtailing can happen for various reasons -- heat or light or ??? maybe, if it's in bloom too long some start popping more pistils. it's odd that it looks like the leaf is new growth too. I've seen spirals form, but never new leaves with it. -- basing it on color of those leaves as if they are recent. the plant may not be able to photosynthesize much with all that canopy damage. if the trichomes are anywhere near ripe, i'd second the harvest sooner than later suggestion. rhetorical question: has the smell changed at all lately? if so and in a bad way, it may be dying on the plant. Another indicator is if it suddenly stopped drinking... extra long between irrigations?
