Am I correct that the brown tips are nutrient burn? Should I alternate giving nutrients and water? Say, nutrients on day 1, then water 4 days later, then nutrients 4 days after that, then water, etc.?

You are correct in your assumptions. You have nutrient burn, you can tell not only by the burnt tips, but by the really dark foliage, which indicates Nitrogen toxicity. You should feed once every 7 to 10 days, why? because it takes that long to see the effects of a feeding on the plants. Also, only water once you see the soil has really dried up, don't stick to a set amount of days, it could take 4 days? sure, although it could take much longer. Also, although I'm not familiar with your nutrient line, it does seem like too much, I mean 29 tsp? I've never seen that much of anything been used. Now, you are already beginning the 7th week of flower, you are almost there, so don't give anymore nutrients, only pH'ed water and let the plan consume what's left on the soil and on it's leaves to power what's left of the flowering stage, hell you should do a flush to help along. I say this to almost every grower, but get an EC/PPM meter to check your feeding strength, for soil you should aim for a concentration of 0.7 to 1.4 EC depending on the phase, you would be amazed how toxic some of the schedules the nutrient companies recommend us to use.

Hi there Burnerac, you have many takes bellow describing, various points of view on your question, so i agree with the signs of the nute burn, and many diagnostics bellow, I send you a few tip on this matter: 1-An EC/PPM meter helps a lot to figure out how is the mixture strength you are giving to the girls, as well as diagnosing also whats in the soil measuring the runoff, so you can id if the girls are able to absorb the nutes and if there are some buildup in the medium. 2-As for the feeding schedule, it depends also on the strain you are making, autos and photos behave also differently in this matter too, some are stronger some are more sensible, generally speaking is a good idea to feed alternating, Water>Nutes, I divide the base nutrient in one water and the additives in the other. There are some that go for Water>Water>Nutes. You control that by the leafs color too dark leafs burning, too much nutes. Looks light washed green, needs more. 3-As for the watering frequently, the root mass size will determine that, as big as it is more she will be able to absorb, and more frequently you can water. For that is important to grow a nice root structure in the beginning, beneficial bacteria helps for that, i always suggest Recharge because it works great. To check if the vase needs more water you can get use to the weight, to you know when it needs more water and feel the top soil up to the second knuckle of your finger to feel how moist it is. Good luck with everything, all the best!

I use this nute line as well and love it. When feeding your plants i base it on a weekly schedule. So if on the first day you give them nutes and three days later they are getting dry they get straight water. If they dry out three times in a week it would go feed, water, water. Either way the nute burn is still very light and otherwise your plant looking very nice. Best of luck moving forward

Hey brother, you did well giving just ph'ed water. The soil has too much nutrients by now, so you should think only give water till the end, before you got serious burn on there. Feeding and watering doesn't have to be on straight days, it depends on how your soil looks, if well dry then yes is time to do it again, but it can take more than a week depending on various factors like temperature for example. If signs like this of a burn by excess of nutrients then you should stop feeding and give the plant a proper flush so all the soil gets clean of the excess. By this time, only water till the harvest seems the more appropriate :) :)

Dark green leaves, burnt tips in a “claw” is excess nitrogen. I would only feed 1x per week. And try not to be a perfectionist—your plant looks beautiful.
