LOW NUMBER OF PISTILS!

Calyxo
Calyxostarted grow question 4 years ago
Low number of pistils at end of flower week 4. I've got two chees plants in the same room with a lot more pistils than the GDP, plants are healthy but the GDP seems to be a bit slow! What might the problem be? Seems like they won't grow into fat, dense buds with so few calyxes

Looks okay to me. In general, bigger size is better thand more numerous flower. If you want more flowers, you should feed addtive with cytokinin like brown sea weed extract. I do that any way. Supplement your regular regime with molasses helps ith the flower size. Should be a safe addtion without screwing up pH and the reast of the stuff. 2 ml/liter once a week until the final week. This should help get the C/N ratio up. GDP strain is notorious for havign hermaphrodite flower. So, you have to inspect it at least twice a week. Good luck

@kingmcdaid, I don't think light is my problem... I've got total 750w true watt power of led and a 150 hps in there,, besides my cheese plants have lots of pistils... Just not the GDP,, they seem to be growing more sugar leaves than calyxes and pistils...

They look healthy add supplemental lighting the more the better. And remember that the majority of bulk will be put on in the last 2-3 wks of flower or so
