Hi.
Grinded weed is not suitednofr lomg time storage. It will degrade fast. Even compression with vacuum is better than grinding.

I'd say grinding and then storing would make the buds lose more of the essential oils that contribute to the smell and smoke, I'd go for storing the buds ungrinded.
