You would need a ph meter.... Alright, don't ph the water, don't measure anything. If you have a small number of plants then use bottled water on your plants at 6ph to 6.5ph, it says on the label the ph level, and use normal tap water to water a different plant, if for the first month the bottled water ones are doing just like the tap water one, then you know your tap water is a good as bottled water for your plants. Please pick my answer for a contest. Thanks

Tap water is fine, people say to let it sit to let chlorine evaporate but weed plants actually use chlorine at certain points of their life so dont worry about chlorine. What you do need to know is what ec your tap water is at. If your tap water is higher than 200 ppm 0.4 ec you really should know what elements are making it that high. You also need to know the ppm of the water so you can use that as your total ppm ec after you add your nutes. A ppm tds reader or monitor is your most powerful tool for growing successfully. Always check your runoff and then you know where your at and tells you what you need to do. Cheers friend

Hey Mate, normally yes. But have a peek online at your water supplier for the ingredients of your tap water. You should keep it in an open bucket (for approx. 24h), so the chlorine, which is certainly inside, can volatilize. After that you should be good to go.. Good luck and happy Trails! Cheerz OimRausch

Heya MaryWuv! I used tap water for my first few grows, you just want to make sure you pH it to 6-7 for soil and 5-6 for hydro/coco. One thing I would reccomend is a ppm/tds meter to test the water as your ppm will be unknown if you mix nutrients without one as it will already have minerals in it. You can also let it sit out for 24 hours to help let the chlorine evaporate. Cheers!

Cannabis plants are not that picky about water as long as your nutrients are right and there's not too much salt. Many growers can use their tap water. If your local tap water is toxic to plants and can’t be used, you can use filtered or RO (reverse osmosis) water. If using RO water, make sure to supplement with a CaliMagic (calcium & magnesium) supplement to make up for the lost minerals that normally come in tap water.
