Side lights ?

Would my plants benefit from these extra lights hanged to the side? Photos included of light and how they look. Above are two SF1000D lights. Curious if these will help the under growth or if it's just a waste? Thanks for any info anyone can share . Happy growing!

technically, anything green is probably photosynthesizing at least a little bit. However, the concentration and depth of chlorophyl in leaves is several orders of magnitude larger, therefore dwarves anything you get on non neaf green material. It is also attenuated from below. it's going to help your lower buds for sure. they will fill out better as if they were near the top of the canopy. other factors matter still, but relatively speaking it'll be a rising tide that lifts all boats. no idea if it is worth the extra cost -- having to buy more lights when they go bad as well as watts along the way. probably want to leave more undergrowth at least a layer around outside to get the light. Have to comare some clones doing it your normal way as a control, then compare outcomes with the extra light... not that it is "the" threshold but you can put it in terms of whether the increased output matches teh extra watts proportionally.. maybe, the consistency of quality that results is enough on its own... personal preferences are a bit part of it.

The replies were amazing. U all rock .. I'm thinking about just leaving them this grow (already had the two so I'll keep them smashed between the plants. The photo u can't tell but I have 1between the pineapple express #2 and jack herer, then the other between the other side of jack herer and my Og18/Holy grail Kush. Since I already had the spare lights just going to see how this run goes N my next will most likely be with a better grow type light in place of these . Again I appreciate the replies and all that information. Screen shotted and saved to mental mem.. much lov growers much luv!!

Can't hurt, but really won't do that much, these are general purpose LEDs for reading newspapers, not plant growing bulbs.

that particular light is wasting a lot the way you are using it... it'd be better if not 360, or the 360's could be in center of 4 plants with a single direction lights on edges, etc.. but as is, 65 watts 360... you could have that pretty close and it'd be safe.. closer the better while under initial canopy and could probably push 80-100 w with one of those "360" lights. otherwise maybe 20-30w per sq foot of coverage (vege/bloom) with more efficient led. That's also probably 6500K cct which has a higher proportion of non-PAR light than a grow light... you'd be good with a 3000-3500K for a seed-to-harvest light.. if possible warmer is better (lower CCT). It's SFD could make that deviation even greater. if it's a "grow light" the sfd is probably okay but read specs for "CCT" too.
