I have never grown cannabis before. What would the best growing medium for someone like me to use? I would be planting autoflower seeds.

For a new grower I would always suggest soil, remember that it needs to have a light and loose soil texture. A light texture promotes root development, and it ensures more oxygen reaches the roots for optimal growth and health. Also it needs excellent drainage. When you water your plants, it shouldn’t pool on top of the soil. If the soil has poor drainage, your plants will get sick and turn out subpar yields or die.

I just go to the nearest recycling place and pick up composted soil. It's free and highly nutritious, and a 10 - 15 liter pot of it should be able to last from seed to harvest with autoflowers without the need for fertilizers. Can definitely recommend for a first time grower, instead of spending money on bags of grow medium.

I too am a first time grower. I am finding that Coco Loco is a great medium to use and also has been very user friendly thus far. It has great water retention values and I hear it is hard to over water. So far I am having wonderful results (I think) and no issues other than I tried using nutes way too soon and I had some brown spotting on the leaves. They have recouped pretty good. Luckily it was super diluted. So Coco is great for a first timer. Good luck! 👊

A light mix soil for autos is great bio bizz or Dutch pro are two I’ve used both seem good I add an extra 10% perlite to the mix for drainage but the light mix will get you all the way threw veg without having to add nuits
