Leaves Turning Yellow

Cortez
Cortezstarted grow question 4 years ago
Outdoor. I have a problem where many leaves, typically closer to the bottom are turning yellow. I don't think over watering is the problem. Tested pH of soil and it is high. Trying to lower pH of water with vinegar. Also tried adding epsom salt for magnesium. Problem continues.

I have my own theories, as I have the same exact problem on my outdoor grow. You can read my diary for some moral support. - > "Cindy_Outdoor_Bucket_Grow" But, if my theories are wrong, then it reverts back to the normalcy of aging leaves on OUTDOOR grows. This is my first outdoor grow of any kind, and what would be an issue for indoor grow, is completely normal for outdoors. Stand pat, if your new leaves are lush looking and majority of leaves hold their color for a week or more.!!!! Just clip the yellow ones for a better looking plant, and to not waste plant energy on them.

Imo. it's just older leaves that are low or deep in the canopy. this is your plant self pruning.. fixing your ph is always good but yellowing is normal especially in flower.. 👊

It's some kind of deficiency. I see a lot of people cut nitrogen out completely in flower. The plant still needs a bit for new foliage and creating chlorophyll. At this stage it could be phosphorus or potassium too if you haven't switched to bloom nutes. You'll know which is more likely. The pH rising usually indicates the need for more nutes. It means the plant is using all the nutes that it can. It works the other way too, if your pH is dropping like a stone, it's usually due to overfeeding.
