Day 67: after watering, I am noticing the leaves curling under, but fine next morning - or at least less clawing. Does this look like over watering? Watering every other day 1/gal per 7gal fabric pot with 2/3 soil, 1/3 perlite well mixed. If not, what might cause the claws?

See how the leaves look puffy between the veins? that's a sure sign of over watering; also, it's not so much leaves curling under, as in droopy leaves, which is another sign of over watering. Perhaps you are confusing the symptoms of over watering with under watering and watering again when you shouldn't, both will have droopy leaves, but while under watering will have dried up leathery leaves, over watering will have puffy leaves. The leaves look droopy when over watering, because the roots can't take oxygen and the plant is literally drowning. Let the soil get dry, half a gallon of water per day is too much.

yep ! you're right : that's classic overwatering. you can tell from the droopy leaves that dont fully perk up and you can tell from the puffy leaves in between the veins of the leaves. you need to follow a strict wet dry cycle , and no matter what people say the "stick your finger in the soil" method simply doesnt work lol, you want to let the pots dry out properly say 2.5/3 days lift them, make a mental note of how heavy they are, then water and lift them again to see the difference. My guess is that you can water every 3 days no problem with those big pots . This is one of those issues where the plant will recover quickly and completely if you do it right. So i hope this helps ! 🚀
