Ready for harvest?

This Oakland Purple plant is about 3-4 months old. For the first month it had 12 hours of direct sun a day, but after that it’s only had about 6-8 hours. It’s had buds for weeks now, but the trichomes aren’t amber yet. Should I just harvest these? Or is it still growing?

Hey! Those buds look ripe and ready for harvest! They won't grow anymore, they'll just mature now keep an eye on those trichomes to not over do it. Harvest window opens when you start getting amber pistils. The best way to check is looking at the trichomes on the buds with a 60X magnifying loupe Clear trichomes haven't reached their full potency, cloudy ones are full of THC and amber are losing THC while gaining CBN. I harvest when after examining and finding 70% cloudy trichomes and 30% amber trichomes. For me that's a prefect combination, depending on the strain as well. With that 30% amber i find that deep indica effect you look for, with my cream caramel i harvest with 30% and it's almost a heavy narcotic high. Very potent indica as well though. With some strains I go with lower amount of amber trichomes but always attest 10%. This really depends on what type of high your looking for. As for what they look like, clear trichomes look like shiny glass, cloudy like plastic and amber like resin Hope this helped. Good luck and happy harvest!

I know once the trichomes are ‘cloudy’ they’re at peak thc, but I wanted to wait until they were more amber colored for that nice deep indica effect... I don’t feel like the buds are growing much lately though, since the cold snap. Wondering if they’re done growing and I should just harvest them. Hasn’t been freezing temperatures, but has dipped to low forties recently.
