Main stock split for no apparent reason?? anyone had this happen with minimal to no stress on the side branches?? Wondering if I topped too low or should have tried to leave more stem from the last node. Growing hard and she just splits, I have seen this bending branches...😀👍🙏

Yes you topped too low. Always leave a nub so when the knuckles grow later on she doesn't split . So not worry though . Tape her up and in a week she'll weld herself back together . Splitting it like this this can actually make the plant become stronger in the long run .

Hey! I've had this happen a couple of times. You need to top a bit higher, leave more stem to help reinforce that zone. After taking away the support she splits because each branch falls to a side.. Good news it's fixable. Bad news she will be going through a bit of stress, depends on how long it takes you to repair the damege. You're on the right path with that black ta but you need somthing stronger like nylon tie to hold that together. If the stem is still fresh place soemthing smooth like a little pice of cloth or something that won't damage the stem when tieing with the nylon tie. After doing that on top place a humid paper towel and make sure it stays humid, you'll have to pay attention to that.. Leave it cover and make sure it's tight. If done right in time she'll heal up. Don't worry about it. Hope this helped. Good luck and happy growing!
