Ahh, got it and thanks for the clarification Polliceverde18. Yeah I agree with you, LED marketing on whats comparable to 1000W can be misleading. What I look at is the ppf for both and then also consider the color spectrums gained as well. So if we use your example, I believe a 1000w HPS on outputs somewhere around 1850µmol/s depending on the exact manufacturer. If we look at for example the Mars Hydro TS3000, which is stated by Mars as being a good replacement to 1000W, it outputs 1095.6umol, but although its less output, its more efficient with the spread and spectrum. In your case if you are limited to 100W consumption, you would have to lose quite a bit more in umol to run a 100w light. An example would be the Mars Hydro TS 600 which would meet your requirements for 100w but it just wouldn't be sufficient to replace 1000w HID. I am currently running a TS3000 alongside my 600W HPS and its amazing to see the power and heat differences. The TS3000 only pulls about 3 amps compared to my HPS pulling at least 6 amps. I would say the TS 3000 is a great replacement of the 1000w if you are able to accommodate more than 100 watts.
