Hi. I really don't think so: I've used a total of 14 jiffy with not even a problem on that side. The roots always pop out from the net even before i put them in the first pot. And, to think about how much strong a root is, the 2nd pot i use is made of coco choir (filled with regular soil). When the plant is big enough i put the whole pot in the final fabric pot, all matrioska style, and the roots simply pierce it with no sweat. Think about it: roots destroy concrete too!

No the roots will be fine they will grow through the mesh quite easily, just pot them up once enough roots have emerged into a bigger pot, just place the whole jiffy into the pot when you do

Hey friend,I’ve seen some growers got difficulty with that mesh when the plant gets older. If the roots are bound in that mesh you will get problems too.So I personally recommend you to cut the mesh into four to six pieces from top to bottom before potting.Happy growing... ✌️

They usually make the mesh biodegradable for that reason so I wouldn't worry about taking them off.

Saludos CroqueMonsieur, Personalmente yo las sacaria en el momento de poner la semilla. Pero si decides mantenerlas no creo que sea un problema para ellas. Mucha suerte con el cultivo💪

Hey, The roots shouldnt have a problem poking through that mesh if they want to. I would leave them on as you risk disturbing the roots more than you have to during transplant. Happy growing
