Personally I would give the autos a miss and plant a photoperiod fem plant or two. Much better yield, much better genetic stability, much better everything really, all while consuming less electricity! Autos need 10-14 weeks at 18 hours, photoperiod plants need 4-6 weeks at 18 hours, then 6-10 weeks at 12 hours of light, roughly.
Using 14 weeks as an example, autos would need 98 days at 18 hours = 1764 hours of light.
Photoperiod plants would need (assuming 4 weeks veg and 10 weeks of flower) 28 days at 18 hours = 450 hours, plus 70 days at 12 hours = 840 hours for a combined total of 1290 hours, saving you 474 hours of electricity consumption over a typical grow cycle. These times may vary by strain, but 14 weeks makes for an easy comparison. Some photoperiod Indicas may be even quicker than 14 weeks, while some heavy Sativa leaning types could go as long as 20 weeks and more.
Recommending strains is a bit hard to do without knowing your preference foe either Sativas or Indicas. Look to a breeder that has been around for a long time, they wouldn't last if they had crap genetics or unstable plants. I have had great results from Barneys Farm, Humboldt Seed Organization, Dinafem, DNA, TH Seeds, Mandala Seeds, Ace Seeds amongst others and can highly recommend Sweet Seeds. They are one of my favourites, with easy to grow, stable, potent, great yields, reasonable prices and simple cultivation, being especially good for beginners. However, there are literally hundreds of breeders and thousands of strains to choose from.
