Plants seem to be lacking apical dominance...?

Wondering if anyone else has encountered plants that have never had apical dominance? I have two plants plants from different strains (that I am pretty damn sure I didn't mix up), both of which have split off into two separate vertical stalks off of the main trunk w/o topping.

Appreciate the answers but it isn't likely to be either of those things. Both plants split their main stems as seedlings around week 2 inside a propagator with no pest damage to any of the plants. During this time I never gave them any seaweed supplements or other type of auxins, only the small doses of GH Rapidstart that they all received. I've also grown other plants with added seaweed - cannabis and not - without any weird growth or unexpected behaviors such ass loss of apical dominance. Tried posting another question but it doesn't seem to want to let me, but hopefully I'll solve this mystery one day.

I have been using seaweed for decades and not once had any strange occurrences. Auxins are distributed throughout the entire plant, generally in higher concentration where the newest growth is taking place, but there is no one telling the auxins where to go, unless you have a plant with a brain! I think if you look closely, you will see that something has eaten the tops/growing center section of these two plants, resulting in the branches of the next highest node to become the main growing stems....basically topping your plants for you. This will not cause any problems unless you are wanting to keep an even height of your plants growing canopy. Either some training or topping will achieve this, however those branches would also make first class cuttings. Hope this helps.... Organoman.

Hi! Because many of your girls topped themselves I believe you have added natural hormones called auxins to your soil and these hormones are naturally found in seaweed and I check your diary and you are using seaweed so this would explain your situation. Seaweed has natural plant hormones and auxin is the one that is naturally found in the highest part of the plant and it tells which branch is the main cola. When you add seaweed to your soil or foliar feed it, the plant will think all of the branches are tops and treat them as one. When I gave foliar seaweed to my girls they started to focus the grow on the side branches more than one main cola, so I think you are in the same boat as me
