Question from a newbie. Can someone please explain why the seed companies say autoflowers take about 8-9 weeks or whatever from seed to harvest, but I see growers going way beyond that?

Seed companies say this because they are running on 24/0 light schedules in professional growing conditions! Best lights, perfect environment. And full blast light! I wondered the same thing when I started! Iā€™m lucky if I can finish an auto under 12 weeks with 18/6. āœŒļøšŸ»šŸ’ššŸŒ±

I'm growing some White Widow Autoflowers that first sprouted 57 days ago and they're only just now starting to show pistils developing. I've got plants from the same seed purchase that I started 3 weeks later (but in smaller pots and different soil) that, while being much smaller than their older siblings, are just as far along in moving into pre-flower. The only thing I can take away from this is that plants can be weird!

They use optimal conditions to get it grown in the fastest time, then they can state it can be ready in 8-9 wks I imagine, and tbf most autos can be chopped at 9 wks and get ya plenty fucked. Fastbuds is a good example of that.

Actually, you can cut it after 9 weeks, but they will be not mature and big enough. I have to wait 11-12 weeks with mine 3 autos, and one of them not even looking ready. Prepare for 3 months grow anyway, dude āœŠ

Seed companies days are not exact by any means. Some say they start flowering then. Training and stress can slow this down as well as issues during grow. Hope Hope this helps and good luck. Happy growing
