Hi Mek , there's no need to transfer/transplant after veg for autos . Put them in their final containers from the start . Transplanting will just stress and slow them down. imo 5 gal is a bit too big for autos , unless you have the space . Would stick to 3 gals to start with. If height is a problem then you can start to LST after a couple of weeks from seed. Tie the main top down which will expose lower growth, giving a shorter bushier plant . A Scrogg net would also help keep height down and keep an even canopy. But using just LST would be recommended if it's your first grow. Keep your ppms low and pH steady and youre good to go. I use Coco, so someone else would be better to advice you on which soil to use . Good luck and happy growing 👍🌱

@space hey! Thanks as well for the pointers for sure. I will definitely use a 3gal and not transfer since you’re right it is a auto lol. Since it is a 5 foot tent of height does become a problem I will keep researching LST and possibly the scrogg net need be. For the soil I got some advice and I’m thinking of definitely adding some coco into their. Thank you again for the pointers! I’m going to start a grow diary on it around next week so if you happen to stop by and see anything worth pointing out I’d greatly appreciate all help! :)

@710 yes thank you! I’m actually reading that part right now. I downloaded the pdf and reading into nutrients needed. Very helpful thanks a ton! Would be smart to stick with fox farm and have seen some good results so that’s a good idea actually thanks

Also consider NUTE: FOXFARM BIG BLOOM with low NPK ratios which are ideal because it will not jeopardize the life of MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI which will be the case with high phosphorus in the NPK ratio. This is well highlighted in TRUE LIVING ORGANICS

Thanks for the advice guys! @the8th since my tent height is only 5ft I was thinking 3gal but would a 5 gal pot be good in a tent with 3 autos all together in a 2.5x2.5x5?? And sorry I may have typed that wrong in the question. I have all autos. No photos lol also looked into the heights and they average out around 90cm max seen some at 100cm that leaves about a foot of space left for the light I hope that’s good :( @710 thanks so much! I been looking for some good reads. Going to look at that now. And for the nutes, thanks I’m really stuck on that one. I heard biobizz was good have to look into guanokalong to see their success with my soil mix. But so far so good! Thanks so much taking all advice! Lol

Also make sure you have a pH and EC meter. This will save you a lot of trouble in the long run I promise.

I would do at least 5 gal pots unless you have a real height problem. I also don't recommend combining your autos and photos. The autos will flower whenever they want so they might stretch before you flip to 12/12. Then all of a sudden, the rest of your plants are too far away from the light! Even worse, autos do better under 18/6 light schedules, so your flowers will be subpar on the autos too. I would also check out the normal heights of all the strains and make sure they are similar. If not, I would buy a scrog net to keep the canopy even.

I have no started germination, I have all the supplies so far but wanted to see if anything was missing. I will be planting in Foxfarms happy frog I also have perilite and worm castings. Still researching the % to use for these autos. Don’t want to burn them. Have heard many people transferring the plant once veg is done. Not sure if I should do that as a newbie??? Didn’t get any nutrients yet as I’ve heard so many good reviews. Anyone know any good nutes to use with my soil mix?? Was going to use the paper tower germ method. I also have a VIPARSPECTRA 450 LED And 4in fan with filter from AC infinity.
