Is this plant male or female

This is a Male in layman's term the little ball on the tiny branch is a pollen sack. Getting ready to point down and open. All you can do is cut it and if I was you I would dry the stems, cut or grind them up fine and use them in some crock pot butter. I usually wait till I got a good mess of stems to work with. Sorry to inform you but this seems to be a male! you can see the little male stamens (pollen sacks) growing with a small stem above the stipules (little wispy leaves that grow under the sexual organ to protect it). If you want to be sure wait a couple more days and let them grow a bit more but check them daily!! don't risk pollinating other plants! To remove it just put a bag over the plant, isolate it and trash it! If you want to harvest pollen for later breeding then isolate him, grow it a couple more weeks, put a small plastic bag over a few stamens (spray water on the rest of the plant to avoid unnecessary spread of pollen) and shake the plant! You can collect the pollen and put in a small container or leave it in the bag then into the freezer until usage. Good luck and happy growing :)
