In my soil mix, some of the things I use are - worm castings, bio char, zeolite, bentonite, kelp meal, malted barley flour, wheat bran, cow manure, chicken manure, compost, blood and bone meal, alfalfa meal, fish meal, humus, peat moss, volcanic rock dust, crushed oyster shells and two types of a commercial mycorrhizae soil "inoculant". I also keep a portion of my soil mix to use as a "starter culture" for the next soil mix I make, hopefully preserving an amount of soil bacteria/microbes from batch to batch. With this sort of mix, it pays to make it about 4 weeks before using it to allow the manures to break down and for all the ingredients to "brew" together. Hope this gives you some ideas! .......
