how many days into flower til plant starts stretching a lot, and how many weeks does it last ? also been considering getting 7 gal fabric pots and switching the 5 gals over so the roots can flourish more during flower.. or is it too late for that?

Stretching depending on strain, but mainly first 3 weeks after flip to 12/12. Some varieties grow with colas up to 6th week of flower. Switching to bigger pot is good , but 5 to 7 is too small jump, you make more harm, try to double. It saves from many mistakes made in/with soil. Keep plant dry before transplanting, roll down old pot like sock or take out and use good soil. Water for first two weeks with just ph adjusted. You can use Micohrryzae for roots. Good technique is to "prune" roots abit. People cut small crosses through bottom off root mass. Google it. Works well.

Hello. It usually happens within the first 3 weeks of flowering. Slows down after the 3rd week buddy. I'm new to growing but I been doing some research and that's what I had found.

You should see stretching after the fist week, it normally lasts 2 weeks. For switching to 7 gals I wouldn’t if there already in flower but next time plan ahead, I’m vegging in 2 gals rn and gonna transplant into 5 gal to finish flower. You will be fine finishing in 5 gals

Also for repotting to a bigger pot. Always a good idea, I've gotten away with a repot in early to mid flower. Anything later will probably cause more stress and they won't be able to recover in time.

Start to notice the stretch about a week in. And will last about 2-4 weeks depending on strain and plant health.
