Spots under lower leaves

Spotted some black & white spots on some of the lower leaves on wedding cake. Can't see any bug but to me they look like eggs. Any ideas (the spots appear on the lower leaves only, top leaves look ok)

@Med_in_Tropic you are right but I think I'm too close to harvest to use anything. I defoliated the affected leaves to contain the issue

Thrip dung. I am in the tropic and I would use anti-insect microbes.

It look likes mildew: several solutions: lower humidity, defoliate, ventilate, dont let leaves/ buds / stems touch. One can spray lightly with several solutions on the market or hydrogen peroxyde or more organically with neem oil, a nettle fermented tea, or a tea made from horsetail. But fix humidity and foliage first. dont touch leaves after touching patchy bits. Contagious.

Hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like trips damage, the black spots are their poo. Growing outdoor, there’s plenty of natural predators and the rains... Mother Nature should do the job
