You use the runoff to control the EC and the pH of the soil. By doing so, you will always know if you need to feed the next time. When pH start to drop, it’s mostly a sign that NaCl start to build up.
Without diving too deep into mineralogy and crystallization to keep it easy to understand, in short sketch, Nitrogen N turns into Sodium Chloride NaCl (sea salt) after a while when it’s not being used.

I don't see this anywhere else on this plant, with the exception of one fine strand elsewhere.
I do have a dog with some white fur but this doesn't look like his hair at all.

Organic dry amendment replacement for bottled cal-mag nutes? (Preferably off-the-shelf)I always seems to run into calcium issues (rusting and interveinal chlorosis) around wk 4. The last weeks, pH of drain water was low (between 5,5 and 5,8) but I could increase it until 6.1.

If my ppm intake is about the same as my ppm runoff but my pH runoff is way lower than intake should I be worried?
