You can and some strains go dream but mostly it's not recommended. Autos just don't get the recovery time they need heading into flower. On YouTube the channel FromSeedtoStoned covered the topic really well.

One new top shoot died what i HST yesterday.super sad thing.The other one looks strong.
I angled the left shoot with a 45 degree. So the Botton shoot can
get more light and be a backup Top? I dont know maybe i cut it down

Conjoined top leaves! 1st node top?Is it possible to top a seedling above the 1st node? Obviously not best practice, but this Phantom OG has a weird conjoined twin leave at the top and not another node. after the first one. The sprout was all good but now top of this one is def not right.6y ago

Is it a problem if one main cola is longer then the other?Did my first topping/mainlining.
Right cola is longer then the left one, is it a problem or will they even out?
For now Im trying to break any apical dominance by holding the longer cola below the shorter one.
