Don’t seem to be filling out very dark colour on the sugar leaves and bud

Another thought I had, is that if you did defoliation, which can reduce the plants ability to grow flowers, due to the reduction of energy making potential. Less leaves = less energy = less growth.

If you are growing autos, you need to leave the light at 18/6 and not change it to 12/12. 12/12 is for the photoperiod plants flowering cycle only. This may explain why your autos are struggling to grow bigger flowers. Colour of the plant has nothing to do with it, colour is only cosmetic. Hope this helps, Organoman.
