Do autos really hate any kind of stress techniques?

I read somewhere on Google or through Google, I can't remember exactly, but it said auto flower strains hate topping, cropping, and any type of stress really. I'm just wondering if there's any truth to this because I was planning on at least cropping and tying down some branches

Thanks for all the info folks. I'm about to finally start my grow tomorrow. My seed is about to pop. Im definitely going to take everything you guys said into consideration while I experiment and learn on this grow. It will be my first grow ever and I am wicked excited. I got my Mars hydro tent all set up with the fan and filter finally hung a couple days ago. It has a TS 1000 LED light 150 watt. I'm growing in 5 gallon fabric buckets that came with the tent kit. I have Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, organic perlite with no nutrients added, X nutrients pH up/down, I got a 6 inch clip on fan running inside the tent along with the vent and fan, I just got my pH meter, and TDS meters and calibrated em soon as I got em. I have a soil testing kit too. Oh and last I have Fox Farm Trio Liquid Soil nutrients Big bloom, Grow Big and Tiger bloom but I'm not planning on using the grow big and tiger bloom until week 5 when they're supposed to start flowering. I have a Bruce Banner auto seed ready to go pretty much. Well see how it goes.i have a good amount of seeds to experiment with. I have 4 more Bruce Banner seeds, 5 Gorilla Glue 4 seeds, and 5 GSC Extreme seeds, all autos from ILGM

No its not true. lst is fine and even hst is fine.. as long as you dont see preflowers its "ok". have fun and try / learn. do different stuff on different plant, in different grow stages. some stress will hurt your yield, some can improve your yield. as a strict rule - do not train plants that are already growing slow. as a lose rule - don't do any training after day 20-30. as such, the first 20-30 days of veg is important - the faster you can make the strain grow the more you can train it into producing more. If this is your first time with this strain and dont know anything.. keep 1 plant untrained, then you can better see how your training is effecting the ones that you train. also, you will perhaps get a very good Christmas three to brag about :)

It is not that they "hate" stress. It is that they are on a fixed schedule. They will flower and die on their schedule regardless of what you do. So, if you top or prune you are taking away part of the plant. It will not kill it but it will not have time to recover like a photo so you may hurt your yield. With auto's I use aggressive low stress training. I do not top and only do minimal pruning. Instead I start early tying the branches to spread them out so every bit gets the most light and airflow possible.

It will handle it fine, but the recovery period is the issue, I topped my auto and it is going fine. But LST is best if you want to get the most out of it.

Some people do it very successfully and some don't. I choose not to because of the very short vegetative stage. It doesn't really allow a lot of recovery time. Like I said though I have seen some do it with great results, so I guess it is something you just have to experiment with if you have some extra seeds.

My current RQS NL autos seem to have loved to LST i treated them to a few weeks ago, and I love the results they will be providing over the next couple of weeks ;)
